Description
Have you ever needed to record an audition video but not had anyone to play the other parts. Well, now you don't need anyone else. By using Audition Pro you can record the audio of all the parts for the audition and then video yourself interacting with, er, well yourself.
You can either set it up so that you say your parts in the time allowed, or by using a small remote you can let it know when to move onto the next line.
Audition Pro works alongside LineLearner so that you can use LineLearner to learn your lines, and then import them straight into Audition Pro to record the video.
It's also great if you want to interview yourself, and you can even change the pitch of the other characters so they don't sound so much like you.

It could be great but needs work
The idea of this app is great however,
The camera is too small so you don’t get a good view of how you look on camera. It needs to fill the whole screen. Also when auditioning you have to film in landscape NOT portrait (so not as shown in example in app ). So the tiny box that show camera is not helpful.
Once you’ve recorded and you play back your video the feeder lines (pre recorded lines of the other character) are far too loud and transitions to each line is clunky.
Positives I love it gives you a count down I think there should be an other of 5 sec to get into place and maybe a sound that beeps for 5,4 then goes silent for 3,2,1 that was you can focus on your eye line.
I love that it also stops the videoing automatically which makes it clean.
A few tweaks here and there and this could be genius!!! Would like to see more improvement in this app
Useful, intuitive and richly beneficial
Having been a beneficiary of the line learner app for a number of years, I was delighted to discover this support for self-tapes.
It’s superb.
A lot of the issues from earlier review appeared to be resolved, but the ‘clunky’ transition can also be resolved in the way you record the lines by being gentle with your stop record button. Volume of feed line can obviously be reduced with your volume button.
This saved the day during lockdown, but I can see myself using it for most, if not all future self tapes.
Being able to feed the lines, change pace, have a countdown, automatic stop record, instant playback, compressed files, email / save options and in such a friendly and simple layout is just a gift!
Being able to focus on the script and performance without worrying about technology is what most actors want.
This app is now a solid companion to my line learner app and both take away the stress from my audition preperation. Perfect!
WANT TO LOVE IT BUT!!
This app is sooooo needed, however the transition ‘sound quality’ between the replay recorded ‘off lines’ & the iPhone mic as you film is huge. Such an awful shame, as there is nothing else like this on the market. Actors are ‘desperate’ for this option. But seamless sound quality has to be looked at. It’s ruining grt takes atm! 😱
