Lacks basic features

The overall experience is great - there’s lots of variety and the app functions really well but it lacks some basic features other apps have, which put me off using it. The biggest issue is adding items to your ‘watch later’ section, because you have to click ‘star streaming,’ then press save and every time you want to return to it you have to re-find where you were.

It starts with the most recently released episode, not the first of the series and doesn’t separate them by series which means scrolling to the bottom can take a while. It also doesn’t show you which episodes you’ve viewed on iOS. There’s no easily accessible list of saved shows either so it takes a while to find them on the Home Screen.

Difficult to watch audio described programs on the app

Can the development team please put on the roadmap the ability to toggle audio description from the play screen?
Currently, if I want to watch an audio described programme, I have to go into the audio describe section. If I’m lucky, the episode I want will be featured on the first page, otherwise I have to go into the A-Z and find the program i want. However, if it is a series, only the latest episode is shown with audio description. If I select a previous episode, the audio description doesn’t work. Also, if I’m watching an audio described episode from a series and the next episode launches automatically with auto play enabled, the next episode doesn’t play with audio description, even if the website shows that audio description is available. Also, at the moment you cannot currently download audio described programs.
Confusing to read? It certainly is a confusing way to try and watch audio described programs.

Best one so far!

All you have to do is just create an account but it is fair because it has soo many programmes so you can watch everything and live things on CBBC and news on it :D. I am happy with this app because it is also like Netflix but better. You can watch movies. Though some of the movies are old :(. Overall, it is one of the best apps and I recommend you should download it
Also, it updates all its channels so on Monday there might be only 1 episode of so awkward, then on the next few days (due to upload time and publishing) day there might be the 2nd episode while on Netflix there might only be 1 episode for a few years ;(
Hope this helped whoever reads this :P (some of these reviews are fake and written by other companies so don’t let that fool you!)

Ps. The account making is quite tough

so awesum

Downloads

This app is great, it allows me to watch a large amount of shows at the press of a button, and all for free.

The only problem I have with the app is downloads, I think they are great. But the one problem I have is that you can only select one show to download or be put in the queue at a a time. When watching later seasons of a show that has a lot of seasons, like Doctor Who, it gets really annoying having to scroll to the series, then scroll down to the episode I want to download, then have to scroll back to the series again because it puts you right back at season 1. Having the ability to select multiple shows at once to be put in the queue would be a major benefit.

Other than this problem, I think the app is brilliant.

Recent changes made it less usable

Decent content still, but shame they’ve downgraded by changing the UX probably on basis of some flawed designers ideas which haven’t been user tested or based on any customer insight. Now even harder to navigate than it was and the three buttons thing at the bottom whilst is becoming more common on apps, hasn’t been thought through properly. Made it a lot harder to find what you want e.g. returning to a series you have been watching… it should just be at the front with a button to click to continue watching… like Netflix. Instead you have to go back to search and find it again… or scroll miles down the screen to “your added programmes”. Obvious they’re not really analysing how people use the app as otherwise they’d make changes to make it more intuitive rather than harder to use.

Mostly great but…

My Son and I are greatly enjoying the fantastic Dr Who content. Amazing - 13 seasons + all the original ones too! … But, the App has very little organisation of these episodes (and other shows), especially on Apple TV’s app. There seems to be no way to see all seasons and move between them, and then see their episodes. There also seems to be no way to jump from an episode to the next, or the next of the season it is in. And often episodes don’t seem to be in order. I think the app would be greatly improved if the team could add functionality for easily accessing seasons and their episodes directly for all programs. Thanks!

What’s the point in downloading shows?

I had numerous shows download on my phone, so my children could watch them in pubs we go to off the beaten track with no mobile signal. When we came to play the downloaded shows, an error message came up saying ‘Unable to play show at this time’ (or words to that effect). So what’s the point in downloading shows? I thought the whole point was to be able to play them when you don’t have access to the internet, either via Wi-Fi or Mobile? Complete waste of time and storage space on my phone.

Strangely, when I did come into an area with an internet connection, I started playing one of the shows. Then I put my phone into aeroplane mode and I carried on playing. So clearly it can play them from your phone without streaming, but does it need an internet connection to start playing them first? What’s the point in that!

The awsome girlz ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Okay in general

Hiya, I believe this app is good with small things that could be changed giving it 5 stars - shows are never short on here, it gives you a wide and extensive range from cooking to gripping dramas. This app uses a medium amount of data, saving shows are easy and setting up an account is extremely simple. I love the fact that the app gives a two age bracket, adults and below 13... - this was just to give appropriate shows to said age group. Due to the company’s known structure I was okay with giving my information, although I am always weary. But as I am typing this I am remembering that hardly any information was needed which is a great bonus on so many levels.

I hope this is heLpful!

Brilliant app!

I’m so happy that I have finally found Netflix, but with programs that are free, and that I actually want to watch! The auto-play feature’s great, and the app really is very easy to use overall. So far, I’ve had no issues whatsoever, and the good thing is that I can download things onto both my iPad and my iPhone at the same time! Brilliant!
On another note, let’s be honest: where else can you find a series as fantastic, addictive, genuinely interesting, and oh-so action-packed as Doctor Who? It’s my all time favourite; when I say that this app is worth 5 stars, I mean it! Shows that I actually want to watch, for free?
Right up my street.

Downloads all disappeared

All my downloaded programmes have disappeared, expiry of the programme is not the issue as most had over a year left. It looks like it might be the new version of the app which automatically updated 2 days ago on my IPAD might be the problem. Sort out one bug fix to create more bugs. Not happy as I can not recall all the programmes I downloaded and it will take a long long time to redownload. Some series were part watched and I can not recall where I watched up to. I just heard back from the support team via email, due to their complete incompetence the latest app upgrade has indeed deleted all old downloads on devices. How to totally upset customers! Their response was for me to waste my time to download again. What a wonderful service provider! I am of course being totally sarcastic.
