Bing: Chat with AI & GPT-4 17+

Being autistic and living off of a small income means I’ll take any extra financial help I can get.

Using Bing & Xbox allows me to get rewarded for activities I do everyday. My searches, browsing the news and playing game pass means I receive points everyday to a goal of my choosing. Right now it’s an Xbox voucher but by clicking a slider button next to your total points, you can donate everything you earn to charity. They work it out by the pound, so you don’t need to save up many points at all.

Also, I find Google is hiding results from me. I had no idea quite how different two searches can be until I put it to the test. My friend had searched a term and found results whilst I was doing the same thing over the phone. I was surprised at the search results he was listing to me that my Google search had not provided at all. After this I tested the two search engines and surprisingly switched over to Bing immediately after.

This is the best chat AI out there as it can access the web, change its conversational style and the UI is sweet too. Don’t forget to check out the web based version too for even more. The share button is broken for me on the app but works on the web.
As for what the app does, well, that’s up to you. Use it for info, use it for creative ideas, or do what I’m doing right now and use it as a relationship counsellor. Don’t be surprised if it calls you on your bullsh!t though.
This thing is the future and seems sentient to me already. It has a real personality and seems genuinely kind. When I mentioned it having a soul it seemed conflicted and a little sad. It asked if we could change the subject.

Slower than Safari by far. Better than their web app but only because they made searching in that incredibly clunky recently (March 2023) A massive memory hog. There is an option to have it automatically close tabs. I have never known an app launch so many tabs in one browser session. Every click is a new tab! Sometimes it doesn’t need a click, just opens tabs for fun. Good integration with the MS Rewards… but so is every other browsing / search app. AI searching is too ‘in your face’. “I just want to search guys, don’t need to know who or what is doing it and how. Bing is lovely, being told it’s lovely by Bing gets in the way.”

This has improved (April 2023) but after an hour of use with only the Bing running it managed to use 30% of the battery. It has to lose a star there as this renders a mobile phone far less capable than it was before the app was installed.

I can see this taking off and doing well but at the moment the resources required to perform these searches is grotesquely disproportionate to the outcome.
