Description

Bitwarden is the easiest and safest way to store all of your logins and passwords while conveniently keeping them synced between all of your devices.

Password theft is a serious problem. The websites and apps that you use are under attack every day. Security breaches occur and your passwords are stolen. When you reuse the same passwords across apps and websites, hackers can easily access your email, bank, and other important accounts.

Security experts recommend that you use a different, randomly generated password for every account that you create. But how do you manage all those passwords? Bitwarden makes it easy for you to create, store, and access your passwords.

Bitwarden stores all of your logins in an encrypted vault that syncs across all of your devices. Since it's fully encrypted before it ever leaves your device, only you have access to your data. Not even the team at Bitwarden can read your data, even if we wanted to. Your data is sealed with AES-256 bit encryption, salted hashing, and PBKDF2 SHA-256.

Bitwarden is 100% open source software. The source code for Bitwarden is hosted on GitHub and everyone is free to review, audit, and contribute to the Bitwarden codebase.

Simplicity with a good price in mind.

Recently I moved to apple devices and I was locking for somthing unique and useful compared to my previous provider LastPass. Bitward's developers are active and they are working on the product regularely as few days ago they updated the app and it stopped working on M1 chip computers and I contacted them and whithin hours they replied to me that they were aware of the bug and they have released an update that it needs to be aproved by Apple first. Very nice job! It took them just a day to fix the issue. I don't see why not using Bitwarden if what you wish for is to get value for money.

It's mostly great

I have used Bitwarden (on and off) for several years now. I did a round on all the others on the market and ended up coming back here. While I consider it to be the best password manager, I have gained experience in other features from various other tools too. TOPT being the main one for me. I woud much prefer to right click and just ask it for fill in, rather than have it saved to the clip board and have to paste in.

The recent changes by Paypal which opens up a javascript window or something, and requests you to login, doesn't work with the browser plugin for Bitwarden either. This is because it's still trying to use the domain of the shop, rather than paypal. Accessing the "generate password" is time consuming compared to other options. It's often just faster to do a web search, many search engines even generate the password for you.

Good replacement for LastPass & 1Password

Both LastPass & 1Password have taken their customer-base for granted, and spend more on marketing than product value.

Bitwarden, on the other hand is, focused on product simplicity, and getting the job done - and is by the lightest, fastest and most resource-friendly of all the many, many similar Apps I've tried - Bitwarden has at least the same, and often more features.

I need to use for Home and Work, as many other people commenting on GitHub seem to also, which I expect is a good up-sell earner anyway, so I'll hold onto the 5th star rating until that's developed.

Thank all the same, keep on developing, the world thanks you!
