First, the positive. The visual aesthetics are good.

Now to the nitty-gritty. The app still relies too much on acting as a overlay to the main council website, Rather than being made purely as an app version. This means it isn’t especially easy to use as it simply isn’t tailored to being used on an iPhone or iPad.

Due to the above, it suffers from the same poor user experience as the site. Something simple as reporting more than one streetlight, for example, means that I have to enter my details at the end every single time. I get the impression that they’d prefer you didn’t bother them with requests!

Other council websites I have used, such as North Yorkshire CC’s, have an account function which means that by signing-in, my details are already known. The other bonus is that with such a system, I can track the progress; if there’s a reason why a pothole cannot be repaired, for example, at least I am made aware rather than being left in the dark.

Bradford Council, please drag your app into the 21st century!

I just wanted notifications for bin collections. In Kirklees, I could subscribe to an email alert. For Bradford, I had to download this app. It tells me I have to enable notifications in my settings, but there is no option to do so for the app. Nothing on the app seems to actually work; if it does anything, it just opens up the web browser. The app is completely useless and I can’t see a single way it functions as intended.

Having worked in IT for 40 years I can honestly say this is the worst app ever... I would give it a zero rating but there is no option to do that. Bradford council needs to get a refund from their IT supplier or sack the IT dept if it’s in house
Reloaded app many many times and at best I get bin alerts once every 6 weeks, the app is unavailable more than available!!!
This app is more of a front end web browser which means it does not work if you don’t have network connection
