Widgets are NEARLY perfect

I’m a long time bullet journaller but a new user of the companion app and we’ve been getting along swimmingly. The companion app is a lovely digital space. It is sparsely featured in a mindful and intentional way, which empowers me to log tasks and thoughts on the go while still encouraging me to come back to my notebook.

For me, the notifications, the expiring log entries, and the library (which I haven’t fully used yet) elevate the official BuJo companion app above using another notetaking app for the same purpose.

One tiny improvement I’d love to see is in the Log Overview widget. Can you stop it from displaying migrated or completed tasks? I use the widget on my home screen to see outstanding tasks and it’s distracting to have it filled with tasks I’ve actioned.

Bullet Journal

There are zillion of apps for “personal productivity” but how do they perform on “personal” terms?
For me Bullet Journal has been an extraordinary experience. The first 6 months frankly obsessed with it. Read everything on it and followed it exactly. Then the start of this year lost my way a bit. Experimented with conventional digital apps in January. Still not happy, then thought, hang on what am I doing? Get your notebook out and adapt Bullet Journal to suit your needs. I now use the basic Bullet Journal formula with minor personal adaptations. That for me is its core level of genius, a proven simple technique with adaptability. Believe me it works and makes you feel like a human being in charge and not a person flicking through a digital app all the time.

Good companion concept

I like the app but hope it continues to develop, I love the reflection although some are not for me and my usual type of reflection but I use them as a part of my reflection. The log is great but needs some work as I can't log and reflect and if I can't access my journal between reflections thus is an issue. I would prefer a little longer to log as if I am out for the day (without the journal 'family time' I find by the time I can write in it it's gone, having dyslexia this would work great if it was more effective.
I also think more could be done to develop this, but the concept it good.
