Connection issues

App connects then disconnects after 2/3 secs. There seem to be 2 WiFi networks - the ‘van hotspot and another. The app seems to work on the other.

The WiFi on the iPhone 13 seems to change at random when it sees a stronger signal. Car Play seems to be connecting/disconnecting and one or both of these seem to cause the app to disconnect. Surely a user shouldn’t have to change WiFi settings in their phone?

It is unclear whether the app needs a connection to the internet and if so does it use the onboard WiFi or eSIM. Does a user have to purchase a data package to get the app to work? If so this is not explained anywhere.

In its current form the app is not fit for purpose.

No longer working?

At one point I was able to use this app but now my wifi/bluetooth button in my California Beach no longer enables a connection. I can reset using the van button but no matter what I do I cannot get connected again. I have tried phoning and emailing to get a reply to this issue but so far I haven’t gotten any further. Support is very delayed and unsatisfactory for having spent many thousands of pounds on our brand new Campervan - technology should not be so f difficult to get to work.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the issue you have faced on the California on Tour app.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use the wireless Apple CarPlay function with the California on Tour remote control function at the same time, as both work with a WiFi connection. We apologize for this inconvenience. Unfortunately, we can (currently) only offer you a workaround for this problem. In order for both connections to work at the same time, Apple CarPlay must be used with a cable connection.

We would like to inform you that we are working non-stop to improve the customer experience on the California on Tour app and to offer you the best customer experience. Thank you for your patience.

Connectivity

Just got a 2024 Beach Camper and connectivity is random.even when I connect as soon as I go to another menu it drops out. I’ve been told that when connected I should be able to see the router passphrase?
On the model list there is an Ocean Camper ? What is that, where’s Beach camper. I’m in the van or next to it doors open, no connection.
