Take a deep breath: it’s both a call to action and a defining feature of this app’s approach to meditation. In a crowded field of mindfulness apps, it stands out for its ease of use and attention to (soothing) detail.
Amazing, here are some ideas to make it even better

I absolutely love the daily calm and daily trips. I feel I have lots of options for my morning / midday meditations. I do however feel there is something missing for evening sits - I like to do a session between ending the day and getting ready for bed to wind down - surely I’m not alone and this is also suggested in the 7 days for sleep course. The aforementioned aren’t a great fit for this as they are very much set up with directions for the ‘rest of your day’. Also, I much prefer these to be relaxation focused. There are very few 10 minute options for this in the sleep tab. I would LOVE to see a new daily, eg ‘daily drift’, with a focus on winding down at the end of the day (not necessarily falling asleep). It could include relaxation techniques, vagus techniques, breathing etc. Chibs Okereke would be a great fit for this and it would be great to see a black teacher represented in your dailies. This would make a lifetime subscriber out of me as at the moment I’m struggling to find something that fits this, and headspace is currently serving me better for evening wind downs. Thanks for considering!! This would make my 2025! Other suggestions - ability to queue sessions so we don’t have to come back to the screen in between (eg so we can go seamlessly from breathwork into a session); Being able to edit the length of the daily sessions (just an editing job so the longer ones have more silence); Linking with Alexa so we can access sessions whilst sleeping with screens in another room.

One evening about two years ago, I had a particularly trying day, I was overwhelmed with wedding plans. Lost in navigating the social pitfalls of bridesmaids, friends, couples and guests. Failing miserably at keeping everyone else (and myself!) happy and pandered to. Lying awake that night, I found myself searching for a tool to help me sleep. Thoughts bouncing and body restless. I replayed and relived the events if the day that troubled me. Picking up my phone for the hundredth time that evening, it was then I came across the Calm app. Amongst its sleepy stories was the one entitled ‘Gratitude’. It forced me to consider my own life and the things I have to be grateful for, which are, I found, extensive. Calm gave me a stepping stone from which to start, if nothing else I was clean, dry, and warm. Fed, safe, and free. So many more really do have so much less. It gave me a baseline from which to build. Now when I wake up the first thing I do is head downstairs, flick on the coffee machine, open the blinds and marvel at the wonderful life I’m lucky enough to lead. I have a beautiful home, I don’t want for much. I have a beautiful husband who loves and adores me, and I’m lucky enough to call him my best friend. Not only outwardly and superficially as it appears many do, but truly and deeply. On my scales of life I have created a stronghold of positivity, strong enough to outweigh any problems I may face. The funny thing is, it was always there, I only had to look. For me, it just took downloading this app to discover it, and you can too.
Was a great buy, originally 6 years ago, but bugs in updates.

I was hesitant in purchasing an annual licence but I am very grateful that I did. I use it every day for a few months now and I find the practice rewarding. The meditations on offer are very well produced. —————- An update, July 2020, after over two years of use, I’m getting a bit disappointed with the number of bugs that keep appearing in the app. Crashing, failure to record the amount of time meditating, and now a loss of statistics about your usage. I would have thought that considering the income the Calm app generates, repeated software bugs with updates would not occur. Please sort out your software management system and do more testing before the release of an update! ———————Update October 2022, it must be okay as otherwise why use it everyday for over four years. Frustrating this morning in that whoever put the daily reflection on, failed to ensure that it fitted on the screen. So I don’t know what the punchline was. In general, apart for this mishap, the app is improving and I’ve not had any bug issues for at least a year.————————-Update March 2024. Still using the app, now with six years of use every day. Increasingly disappointed with the constant revisions. For some reason last year they either decided to stop sending the mindful minutes to the Health app, or an update with a bug in it, stopped this from working. Told Calm about it, but no fix. Each update seems to make the app worse 😟Dropping a star because of poor updates.
Thanks for using Calm, the #1 app to help you sleep more, stress less and live mindfully with a range of science-backed content and activities for daily mental health support.
This update contains multiple bug fixes and performance improvements.
Now take a deep breath and open the app to see what new daily meditations, Sleep Stories, soundscapes, music, breathing exercises, and more are waiting for you.
