Good app, let down by support

On the whole I like this app. Initially I couldn’t see my folders, support spoke to me like I was clueless telling me to do exactly what I told them I’d done and hadn’t worked. Turned out the problem was I need to switch off unified view.

The app also insists on in-app vibration every time you receive a new message and offers no way to disable this notification. If I’m sitting in a meeting quickly checking email I don’t want my phone vibrating continuously for incoming emails. This functionality is easy to configure for the iPhone email app.

This is a beautifully crafted app that is currently falling down on some simple functionality and mediocre support. If these items were addressed it would comfortably be five stars.

Could be amazing

At first I was really pleased to have found this app as it seemed to offer everything I wanted in a mobile email client. Adoption of encryption in email has lagged behind that on the web for too long. The app seems well thought out and the UI has a certain polish to it. After using it for a while though I noticed several glitches though. When composing a new message the recipient address would often disappear when selecting the suggested match. When viewing medium to long messages, the view doesn't allow you to scroll to the bottom to read everything. Sometimes a restart would help persuade it to measure the scroll length correctly, sometimes not. There are several functional glitches and support is friendly but doesn't seem too fussed about fixing them. A pity, as with a little more work this could be a fantastic app.

Great Mail App But Needs Improvements

It’s the best mail app I have ever used, but it needs some fixes and improvements to make it even better.

1. A major issue is the delay in receiving emails, and further delay in updating the home screen widget. Even when the Canary Mail app has received the email, the home screen widget is not updated instantly; even after a few minutes, it doesn’t update. Users always have to open the app first to get the widget updated.

2. Please allow us to import a photo to use as a signature properly, and also to resize the signature photo by centimeters. Currently, the only way to have an image as a signature is to copy and paste it, but it pastes as a very large image with no way to resize it. Additionally, it doesn’t work when the recipient receives it, as they see a blank missing image.

3. Another improvement needed is the title shown at the top. When we use an email address as the account description, the text is very long and half of it is hidden. So, please make the long text scroll slowly from left to right or right to left, or make it smaller to fit the entire text at the top when the description is long.

4. For multiple recipients in the read receipts section, it only shows as “1 more recipient,” and when we press on it, it only shows the email we have sent with no mention of how many recipients have read it. Please implement a section to show who has read the email when sending an email to multiple people.
