Careem – rides, food & more 4+

I found out about Careem and had mixed feelings due to having issues with other forms of transport (taxi, horse ride, tuk tuk etc). Occasionally drivers don’t want to take small rides but Careem always contacted me immediately and resolved. Now I have Luxor pass I will be using Careem much more and for longer journeys and I am confident it will be great and I will only need Careem. I will also recommend Careem to anyone as the service is excellent and staff always very polite. Other transportations hate Careem and I know exactly why. This company is very professional and great prices which you know in advance not like the others who just say ‘it’s okay’ when you ask how much or change the price at the end somehow by saying the price is for each person! I cannot recommend Careem enough. UK reviewer.

UPDATE: Since the review Careem requested more information on what they should do and I replied with a solution regarding one of their major issues. Since then there has been no communication back about what they have done, but everyday I get a call from a different customer care agent asking me if my problem has been resolved and if they can close the ticket. Non of these employees even know what the issue was and what was done before calling. I consider this harassment since you call everyday to get me to close a ticket. Hence, as of today I have blocked Careem customer care from my phone. This is just embarrassing now, and it’s a clear show of what kind of a company they are, instead of making their app and service better, they try to bully customers into closing open tickets.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The service from Careem used to be very good as they were competing with uber. However since they have been brought out by Uber ever month the quality of the service just drops, mainly cause they know the consequences are minimal as they have a monopoly on the market. Even the drivers know this, hence you will get more situations where the drive is taking you for a ride around the city and Careem does nothing to address the issues.

First of all i really liked this app until this incident happen which really is concerning. Location tracking of this app is total garbage many drivers on the same day could not find the property after several minutes of explanation, (this never happened to me before as i ordered many careem around September until January and they all found my property with no issue) To continue they hang up on your face and cancel the ride. The person who’s in charge of customer services is totally incompetent and unprofessional so he blamed me for booking rides (not all at once but one at a time which seem logical) when the drivers were canceling them because they couldn’t find the property, i faced him on the phone and i was shocked by his communication skill who were below average to non-existent at all !
However to not spit entirely on this application because i used to like it ,i started to use this application since September 2020 never had problems with this app until the last 3months
Since that incident i will never use the app again as their actions are disgusting
