Catan Universe 4+

I do really enjoy playing this: it is my go to relaxation app, but as I play it on the phone , I find it quite frustrating that the contrast between player colours and scores are so poor. It makes it really hard to keep
Track of everyone’s progress if you have to keep ducking out of the game to check on scores in the details! Also, purple and brown, and pink and red are scarcely able to be distinguished- so I’ve taken to aborting a game where those colours come up together - I just can’t tell the difference between them unless I really zoom in! Just altering the intensity/ shade of the colours so they are less similar, and adding a contrast colour for the scores ( white would probably work best on most colours, rather than black or a deeper self colour as seems to be the case at present! ) would be a simple fix to improve the game! The game is flawed! I thought the dice role was biased towards the AI and I was suspicious how the AI rapidly expanded. In particular in games where I was 1 point away from winning, the AI was 5/7 points away - in 4/5 turns I had lost! The AI steals regularly from the player even though the player is 5 points behind everyone else. The statistics of the dice throw regularly show the AI collecting on numbers where it has no settlements- hence the rapid builds I guess. I played a game where I had developed on all but 3 numbers (7 being one) yet I didn’t collect a resource for 7 throws. I documented the dice throws and found that the AI could never have built what was on the board having needed 26 resources but only collecting 20. Yes I get trade but also there is the Robber it was impossible. The AI never moves the boat robber unless the player has moved it. The AI doesn’t target the leader and trades are clearly unrealistic if they happen with the player at all (for a trading game its bizarre). I have screen shots of games where 2,11,5,4 make up over 50% of the dice throw followed by a 7 taking the lion share of what is left. Stopped earning xp. Doesn’t record achievements e.g. win 5 games of seafarers, achieve level 5. This game is massively floored and a huge disappointment. I am returning to the original.

When first I downloaded this app at the start of June, everything ran smoothly enough. Welcomed into the universe by the hirsute heartthrob Candamir, I sauntered through the tutorials for the various expansions with a spring in my hide-shod step. Multiplayer got off to a shaky start due to some connectivity issues, and the kicktimer would occasionally pop up when I was fully engaged in rolling dice or swapping sheep, but soon I was playing regular online games with my better half, all of which went off without a hitch (though, considering how competitive we both are, without increasing the prospects of us ever getting hitched!)
Since the UI update at the end of June, however, my game crashes every time someone performs an action, in both single- and multiplayer. This means that I have to reload the game every turn, and after three or four re-entries into the game I get kicked out for ‘being disconnected from the internet for too long’. This is deeply disappointing, as I’d very much enjoyed my experiences up until this point!
In short, this was a great game with which to while away time with friends and family, but is now unplayable.
