Be aware
Had to give 5 stars so that this review would be seen. It’s a zero star site. There is something not right about this auction app. I will explain and you tell me, so I waited on a lot that had zero bids on it. 20 seconds before it ended I added a bid. Then the timer reset to 1 min 30 seconds. And miraculously a new bidder turns up and places a bid. Bare in mind I had 20 seconds left originally. This has now happened on a few occasions. And each item has originally had zero bids and I’ve placed a bid in the last 20 seconds. And same thing happens each time. Also lots on here have a winning bid then a week later the same lot and picture turns up for sale again. My conclusion is they list stuff they don’t have to make the site look busy. And it will always auto bid against you on these lots.
Really disappointed
I always check catawiki before uploading something and there is always same lots or some worst lots then mine but whenever i upload something first they review my items about 2 weeks and after 2 weeks they send me an email and saying we cant include it in our auctions . Even Hallmarked and they always approve everything of some sellers but never approve of some and im one of them . Its really disappointed.
Please tell your experts that give same priority to each and every seller and review the lot carefully

Thus far I have made quite a few purchases using Catawiki auctions and generally my experience has been good. However , I have to state that the ‘protections’ offered when things do go wrong seems weak. In particular my personal experiences with STB art in Belgium leave me wondering whether I can be bothered buying again. All Catawiki seem to do is send what appear to be AI replies consisting of ‘please wait’ , ‘give the seller another chance’ etc etc . This particular seller has consistently ( over 4 or 5 purchases from me) failed to deliver in good time. Their tracking does not work and it would appear that Catawiki could care less about this.
Needless to say I wont buy anything else from STB .
At the very least , I would expect Catawiki to suggest that this seller adopted a more secure delivery courier.
