Description

All the Mass readings plus all the Liturgy of the Hours!

“The Divine Office is... the prayer not only of the clergy but of the whole People of God.”

Universalis is a missal and a breviary, and more besides. It gives you the Liturgy of the Hours (Divine Office) and the Mass for every day; plus valuable additional material.

The Catholic Calendar app lets you join in with the tens of thousands of people who use Universalis daily, through a free app plus a small monthly subscription of roughly $0.99 / £0.79 / €0.99 (the App Store will tell you the exact figure). If you prefer a single purchase instead of a monthly subscription, get the Universalis app instead of the Catholic Calendar app.

Well worth the money

Fr Welsh. Have you forgotten that this app costs a great deal of money to set up, develop, monitor and all the overheads, bills, utility bills we have to pay? As an R.C. Priest myself, unless you are in a missionary station in Sudan or similar, you WILL have the means to buy this app AND for your Lectors, Cantors, Deacons, Religious, Extraordinary ministers.
Your syntax, Grammar is not particularly good. Where did you study, your last Ad Clerum Synopsis, your Age, Location and Parish?
If you genuinely cannot bear carrying books, which I do find humorous, and IF you are BonaFide, I promise now to buy you the. Entire and complete access to the. App.

Could you not see or regard your books as part of the cross we ALL carry?

Morning prayer

This facility is excellent especially the voice version. It helps me as a semiretired priest to do my Society obligatory Daily Office when I am unable to say it corporately. The female voice adds a new depth to the spiritual side of my prayer life and reflects aspects of mixed religious life better. May I suggest the female voice interacting more often, perhaps topping and tailing canticles/psalms, or even saying the psalm lines antiphonally, as I do now with the current male voice. Other clergy feel the same. B

Invaluable resource - No buts

I have been using Universalis now for some years and have found it totally invaluable. I have it on all my computers and tablets and until now have had no reason to criticise only praise. Once again the Catholic calendar have taken note of what people say and changed things accordingly. Having the old Latin plainchants as an alternative is a great solution to the problem. Having an additional hymn each day is a bonus.
