All your charging needs in one app

Great little app that has been invaluable for my travels in UK, Ireland and France.
ChargeMap allows you to search for chargers by type, speed and cost. Additionally, once you have entered your car make and model, you can put in your planned route with preferences for charger type, network type and charge % charge on departure/arrival (among other variables) to calculate where and when you may need to stop to charge.
Lots more functionality in the app too - download and check it out. Best EV charge app I have used (and I’ve tried a few…)

Absolute garbage! AVOID!!

Lots of charging stations shown, but information is often not accurate and the Chargemap card is highly unreliable. Also you only get one and could easily lose it. Why isn’t everything on the app so you can charge up and pay that way? Ps Charging an electric car on a long journey is a logistical nightmare, incredibly frustrating and a massive headache. I’m going back to petrol after my recent experience in France (petrol stations are very easy to find, all prices are clearly displayed, they work 99% of the time, you don’t have to register beforehand and in one minute you can add c300 miles of range. Compare that to being unable to find charging points, when you do find them they are invariably faulty, busy, you need to have registered, take an age to get started and even longer to add more than a few miles unless you pay way more than the equivalent price per mile for petrol. Great for buzzing around town, but a waste of time on long journeys) Update - some charging points now work with the app (apparently - haven’t tried it yet). Map is utter garbage - can pin stations, but no way to see them on the map. No favourites option. Absolute garbage!

Developer Response ,

There are many things in your feedback. First of all, we're sorry to hear about your experience. However, you should bear in mind that gasoline and electric vehicles operate in 2 very different ways.

Chargemap does not own the charging stations and, as a result, the information we display comes from the operators with whom we have signed a roaming agreement.
If the status and/or availability information was not up to date on Chargemap, it's because we unfortunately didn't get the information - we're sorry about that. However, we do have a contribution tab where users can provide us with information. In addition, you can go to the charging station and leave a comment, which will be dealt with as soon as possible. Finally, users also have the option of registering recharges on the application (which is not compulsory, by the way), which provides real-time information on the availability of recharging stations.

I'm sure you'll agree that we're doing everything we can to ensure that our community can intervene and provide us with information about charging stations.

The fact that not everything is on the app is simply due to the fact that charging cards are a separate category: for the moment, it's not possible to completely dematerialize a charging card. However, we have made it possible to charge via your cell phone on a number of networks.

The Pass is linked to an account, but you are free to create several accounts if you wish to have several Chargemap Pass. If you lose it, simply report it as lost/stolen and you can order a new one for €7.

Prices are clearly displayed on our Chargemap app: for each Chargemap Pass compatible station you have. our prices on the website and app.

Last but not least, there's a button for pinning favorite charging stations.

We remain open to discussion and improvement wherever possible.

UPDATE -5 star
FINALLY got it to log in - BUT the route planner is hopeless I put in a route from north Devon to Gloucester area but rather than going to the M5 south of Taunton I wish to go via lynton and Bridgewater then join the M5 so it directs me to bridgewater then back down the M5 to Taunton to a charger at Lidl then back up the M5 Even though I have enough charge to do it in one go with 20% left - no matter how i try it with stages it is hopeless - Quite frankly a waste of my time and effort - the RINGO Parking app mapping is far better - quite honestly this is as poor as Zapmap and abrp - I have deleted the app
ORIGINAL REVIEW
oops! "an unknown error has occurred" - so cannot register - if they cant get that right then there is little point in bothering - thought I would try after it did this 2 months ago - so deleted again - wont bother any more UPDATE developer asked for a screenshot - WHY ? I produced the exact error message as above anyway cant do so as it has been deleted so not bothered ! might try again in a few months

Developer Response ,

Hi Phil. could you send more details to our customer service + screenshot in order to investigate on that error message on our side. Thanks!
