Clozemaster: language learning 12+

I have to say that this is an absolutely incredible app and is perfect on so many levels. I have used good language learning apps in the past that always tried to “improve” their apps and are now not very comfortable to use. To the developers please do not change a thing about the app! It’s perfect, even has the ability to edit translations to preferred translations (an option which hardly any other app if any have) this is a perfect app for learning vocabulary and great to combine with other studying such as reading. I’ve purchase a lifetime subscription and I hope that you keep the app exactly how it is as it’s great! Only thing I didn’t like was the dark mode due to finding it hard to read text in this mode, but I have found a setting to turn that off so it’s perfect. Only improvement may be if it’s possible for a user to adjust the text size to larger or smaller, as I personally find that the text may be too small for some but perfect for others, but certainly isn’t an issue without that feature. Many thanks for making this app, and as long as it stays the same I personally rate Clozemaster higher than the more well known app with the green bird, dare I say. Thanks Clozemaster for making this app that is a great help to my Russian learning!

Out of all of the many (and I mean MANY) different learning materials I’ve used, Clozemaster is the best one for remembering new vocabulary. It’s miles better than learning individual vocabulary items without context. The app is a bit old school and some of the sentences are kind of weird, but I’ve got so much more out of this than other flash card apps. Sentence mining with Anki is still a great option for those that want more customization options with their learning material, but for someone who can’t be bothered to make their own cards, Clozemaster is perfect and is a much more effective and cheaper alternative to Glossika.

This alone won’t get you fluent in the language as there’s no real structure, and it’s focused on learning random words. That said, it’s a useful addition to my existing learning materials. I seem to be keeping up with the day streak so for the fact alone that it’s motivating me to revisit every day means the app must be doing something good. It would be nice if the robot voice was a bit more up to date, it’s almost unbearable to listen to, and better voice synthesisers exist.
