Redstring is a found-phone detective story. A client messages you in a live chat, hands you the victim's phone, and asks you to find the truth — from the first message to the final accusation. Redstring is a work of interactive fiction. All characters, phones, messages and events are fictional; any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental. The app never accesses your real messages, photos or data.
I mean it’ll give you half an hour of fun but thats about it. The story doesn’t fully add up and even after solving it, i still don’t understand most of it. That being said, the case was still somehow incredibly easy. And on top of all that, when you finish the first case, the paywall hits you in the face. I also hate that it uses AI. But i don’t think you can find one of these apps that doesn’t. It’s a really cool concept it’s just really not executed very well.

We really appreciate you taking the time to write this. 🫶🏻 Notes taken — especially on the story landing clearly and on difficulty; the later cases go deeper, and we're working on making the resolution explain itself better so nothing feels left hanging. If an answer ever doesn't seem to register: every answer is tested continuously in all 8 languages, so it usually means there's more to dig up — open the other apps, read the older messages, and compare what people say against the photos and timestamps. On AI: the cases, clues and writing are ours; the imagery is generated so every photo can be original, copyright-free and built around the clue it hides. Thanks for giving Redstring a real try. 🔍
