Love this game!

Cooking fever is a fun and addictive game which i play daily, my favourite thing about it is the range of cuisines and restaurants available and the broad representation of cultures around the world. I have so much fun unlocking new restaurants and exploring the different kinds of foods available in this game.

However, gems are extremely hard to earn and this can occasionally cause me problems. I watch around 20 adverts every day in order to earn gem shards yet this still never seems to be enough to unlock new kitchen appliances and it’s almost impossible to keep upgrading the restaurant whilst keeping up with the difficulty of the levels. The gardening feature helps a little with this problem as there is the option to plant diamond flowers but I’ve found they are very hard to obtain and the growing time means i have to constantly log onto the game to water the flower so it doesn’t die. This can be extremely inconvenient and reverts back to my main issue of gems being too rare.

Overall it is a fantastic game but i do wish there was another way to get games maybe in a daily mini game or making some of the kitchen upgrades cost only coins. I understand that the company needs to make profit but there needs to be a balance and right now i feel like the scales lean slightly off balance in my opinion.

So hard to get gems now!

I’ve loved playing this games for years now. It’s very addictive and it’s quite a good game, however it’s so difficult to gems now! I remember you used to be able to get gems from the daily rewards after a few days which made it enjoyable as it was easy to upgrade restaurants as well as purchase new restaurants. As the levels increase, so does the difficulty, which requires upgrades to be made but now it feels impossible to make these upgrades without making in-app purchases. Of course profits need to be made for the developers, but it feels near impossible to progress in the game without actually spending money in the game. When I first started playing the game, I was a child and of course couldn’t continuously bug my parents to spend money in a game but it was easier to play them because once I levelled up or got a decent amount of gems through daily rewards or from the casino, I could easily obtain gems. Now the only way is to play old levels with high XP. Makes the game less enjoyable now. The addition of the plants slightly helps as some seeds plant gems and some also help with easing dish praises and increasing customer wait time, but it’s only to an extent and again requires constant maintenance to prevent plants from dying. Of course I understand that this is to mimic real life plant growing, but overnight when once needs to sleep, it means that plants can easily die. Game is less fun now sadly 😢.

Actually not bad at all. Ad-free and well-balanced for casual and intensive gamers

My whole family now plays this. Our toddler was having fun making ice-cream cones in an interactive advert, so we downloaded it for him. Then my wife started playing it. Then I started playing it. Then my mum saw us playing and started playing too! It's a very accessible game that starts you off in one restaurant with 40 progressively difficult levels. The objective is to complete each level with three stars by serving all your customers quickly, and upgrading your kitchen and dining area. There are several addition restaurants to purchase and expand into (and space for more in the future), which require premium currency that can be acquired when levelling up, completing achievements, and your daily log-in bonus. There is also a Casino to gamble gold for a chance of winning more Gems (and this encouragement to gamble is why I cannot award five stars). So you can choose to open new restaurants earlier or fully upgrade the ones you have first. I make sure to log in everyday for my bonuses and just play one level or two, but equally you could play for hours on end if you really wanted to; there are no artificial limits, and refreshingly no adverts!
