Description

Hunt enemy convoys, battle destroyers, attack land bases, and shoot down aircraft in this long-awaited sequel to the best-selling "Crash Dive".

Take command of a Gato-class submarine prowling the South Pacific in search of enemy shipping to sink.

Sneak past the destroyers and torpedo the transports, or surface and engage the sub-chasers in a duel with your deck gun.

When the enemy planes come in on a strafing run, man your AA guns to take them down!

Evade the hunting escorts before they can crush you with their depth charges.

Features:
* Smoothly blends a submarine simulator with arcade action.
* Provides the tools for both stealth and offense; you decide how aggressive you want to be.
* Full day/night cycle and wide range of weather conditions affect visibility and weapons.
* Crew health and location-based damage affects the performance of your sub.
* Optional crew management and detailed damage control (or let the computer take care of that for you).
* Optional upgrade tech tree for your sub (can also be left to the AI).
* Lengthy campaign mode.
* Random mission generator for deep replayability.
* Both randomly-generated maps and real-world locales including the Solomon Islands, Philippines, Sea of Japan, and more!
* Built-in modding editor lets you change every aspect of the game.

Absolutely excellent

If like me you recall a certain Submarine Simulator game from the 8-bit/16-bit days, then this will really take you back. The tutorial is very well measured, there’s an option of a single convoy attack, a war patrol or a full on campaign. This allows you to play a quick 35 minute game or spend a whole afternoon. The choice is yours. There are options for graphics, (on my M1 iPad Pro, they’re simply superb, with weather conditions). I find myself playing this game more than any other iPad game, it really is that good.

If the Developer reads this, can you please make it M1 Mac Compatible, or produce a Mac Version? Please, go on you know you want to :)

Nostalgia

I don’t give 5 stars lightly. I recall, the old days of Microprose ‘Silent Service’ on a Tandy PC. 1989, blocky graphics, few colours, quite basic gameplay but with the benefit of a great imagination I could get totally absorbed in hunting, evading and sinking as much WW2 Japanese shipping as I could. This great game incredibly reminds me of that old game and satisfyingly updates all of the little shortcomings that ‘ancient’ technological barriers imposed on developers (and players) of the time. Add to this the joy of experiencing a game that does not involve the annoying micro transactions of In App purchases that so many other developers impose on customers. Great game. Well worth the price.

Love it

Grew up playing Silent Service. Played some of the U boat sub sims from the 2005 kind of time. I’m really enjoying this game. I do tend to run into convoys like billy o. I run out of torpedos after just a couple of days. Submerged and full speed ahead you can fly straight past destroyers. But that’s the fun. I can alter the settings if I want to. It’s a great game plays wonderfully on my iPad Pro.

I always remember in silent hunter you could see the water sloshing around on the sub screen. That would be cool as would a conning tower / control room view with red light for night attacks. All in all an amazing game.

Love it.
