CUPRA CONNECT App 4+

Original review here and gave it 3*. After just collecting our new car which is a plug in hybrid, this app is a must as you can preheat the car and check on charging or start it or stop it. We originally wanted heated seats but due to availability issues were told that wasn’t possible. Sold this on the fact you can preheat it when you want. Unfortunately the app is down more than a lady of the nights underwear! Please get this sorted!

Updated review: So the availability of the app has gotten much better, only had maybe 3 incidents where I couldn’t log in or the app was non responsive but that could have been signal related. The pre heat the car works well as does sending a destination to the sat nav. I’m confused on how to change battery percentage into range on the app so if anyone knows please put it on here. Stuff I would like added. When you look at driving data it can give you consumption and energy useage but not separately. Would be great to see when you have a hybrid journey what the split is. I’d also like a battery charge limit so for example, charge it to 90%. Have to manually intervene on the app to stop it reaching 100%. Other than these small wishes it works well.

Underwhelming is an understatement, however, it does have it’s uses, barely. If I remember correctly you get one year free and then you have to pay, which is a little harsh, as other companies are doing this for free (Ford) for example.

If you find yourself actually purchasing the app, you will find that as of this moment in time, it’s broken! I logged in, curious as to see if anything would lure me back and consider paying, unfortunately you click on one of the “buttons”, and it crashes the app immediately and takes you back to the Home Screen of your phone, which isn’t ideal.

I’ll be fair with 3 stars as it isn’t the worst thing in the world, when it’s working, but for the price and the inconsistency of it actually working, it only just scrapes its rating. Hopefully they’ll consider either dropping the price massively, or just making it free, but for me to pay that asking price, I’d like more features and for it to work in the first place.

Have given 3 stars because on the days that it works, it’s actually OK.
After a year of not having the app I recently re-purchased it so that I can benefit from overnight cheaper charging tariff. It appears I couldn’t do this without the app. When I log in each morning to check the overnight charge it tells me for example 45% instead of 100%. The app doesn’t update until I’ve moved the car somewhere else. What use is that? Also when I plug in, it often says ‘not charging’ when I can see for myself that it actually is. For such an expensive app this is very poor. I expect better for my money. Doesn’t always show the parking location on the map either. Please sort these issues out.
