• Added Strava Activity and Strava Sport choosers in the settings for an Activity. Useful for choosing e-bike and other settings defined by Strava. Still the best fitness app
I originally bought this app in 2011 after trying literally all the alternatives- I used it cycling with my phone Velcroed to the handlebars- so much info and configuration available it’s almost overwhelming! But particularly easy to see while riding.
Over the years it has continued to evolve - and the free version has few of the handicaps that hobble other similar apps if you haven’t paid a subscription.
I’ve just had another look at all competing apps - I’m naturally averse to paying for subscriptions so was looking for apps that you can buy outright. But when I found out that the yearly subscription for Cyclemeter is less than other apps charge per month, then it was no contest - I’ve just taken out my first subscription!
There is so much that can be configured- I was worried that having bought an electric mountain bike the calorie burn would be inaccurate, but there’s even an option to get this info from your heart rate! And my elderly Mio watch sensor works perfectly with it.
Only thing I have to check is how well prepared maps download into it. The Footpath app had a really handy feature where you draw a rough circle on the map and it automatically snaps to the best paths and roads to take. Will be perfect if that works too! Unless it can be incorporated into Cyclemeter...

Fantastic app
I’ve been using Cyclemeter since 2019. Wanted an alternative to Strava as clearly a man of my age and ability is never going to threaten KOM times.
There’s plenty of features on Cyclemeter that I will probably never use but it’s still great value for money to go for the elite version. The information on each ride and the presentation are excellent. It can take a while to learn where everything is in the interface but it’s a minor issue.
I’ve also used it as a straight up cycle computer. I love being able to see all my ride history so quickly in different time frames too. Even being able to separate out different bikes if you’re running more than one bike with it.
It covers all needs from a leisure cyclist all the way up to a serious athlete who can hook up every sensor they could want.
I still use Strava more for connecting with friends I don’t live near and seeing their riding and it’s a simple post away to transfer data across.
The other excellent bonus of using it is that it won’t drain the battery on your phone. I have mine running in the background and have rode over 7 hours in a day and still had ample power in my iPhone at the end of the day.
Awesome app highly recommend it.

Thank you for such a wonderful and comprehensive review. We greatly appreciate your recommendation.
Excellent support
I’ve been using Cyclemeter since 2015 and upgraded to the Elite version. The app is good because it gives you all the details of your training plus the weather and I especially like the easy way of finding routes, plans and activities to check on how they compare.
I’ve had to contact the support recently because somehow the app lost my data. Unfortunately they weren’t able to tell me how it all got deleted but with a bit of searching, they were able to send me a link for downloading it. I have contacted the support once before and again had excellent service and advice for the query that I had.
I would like an easy way of transferring data from my Garmin across to Cyclemeter especially for keeping records of my swimming but for cycling and running records it’s a great app.
