This is a cool writing-prompt app that does basically everything you need it to: offer writing prompts to encourage/inspire you to write more. You can do poetry, prose, whatever. I’ve been using it for a while now, and I like how it’s becoming like an online writing community. It really helps to keep me motivated to write more, especially when I’m getting feedback on my ideas/stories. There are a bunch of other features that help with this too, like habit-streaks so you can make sure you build up a good run of daily writing. I recommend this to anyone who’s getting into writing. Or even if you’re a seasoned pro. The one thing I’d like is a desktop version. I don’t mind writing on my phone or iPad for now, but eventually it would be good to be able to write in-app on my laptop. But that’s a minor issue — just a thought.

Whether you are a budding writer, looking for a new platform or suffering writer’s block, Daily Prompt will get you writing.I was a keen writer in the past, but fell back into writing sporadically and without a clear purpose. Users can send in their own unique prompts so you never know what you might be writing next. I always thought I had one style of writing, but the varied prompts have allowed me to write stories and poems that are varied and creative.The minimal interface keeps you focused on the task at hand. No ads to interfere with your experience or hundreds of sections to investigate. I’ve found other writing apps are very cluttered so this works for me.I was expecting a Snapchat experience, where you send your work off and can only look back at it for a limited time. Instead, I am so pleased to see there is an archive section too, so you can look back at your full body of work.Great tool for any writer looking to flex their creativity!

i am in love with this app!!! it’s totally genius. before, i would use writing prompt books and it felt kinda pointless, like i wasn’t getting much out of it. with daily prompt, i love the idea of people getting to read and critique my writing and i love doing the same for other people. i feel excited by the idea of waiting to see what people think and exploring other app users and their writings!i would say, that perhaps, there should be a notifications page. so, you can see when someone has viewed, commented or liked your piece without having to stalk your own writing🤣 you could also make this into notifications that ping up on your phone too?? maybe you could follow writers pages too? so when you really like someone’s work, it automatically comes up on the homepage??i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this app though! and i can’t wait to recommend it to everyone :))

Currently, we offer the option to set it up on the onboarding pages but that's it. So stay tuned and that will be coming! A good app for amateur writers

This app is a good tool for amateur or aspiring writers, with plenty of prompts for stories and access to many other writings for inspiration. A fortnightly competition for cash prizes is very welcome, and forces you to write the most creatively you can in order to win. My one gripe is that the first round of these competitions is decided by popular vote, which has two drawbacks. The first is that there’s no requirement to have read all of the entries before voting, so votes may be prematurely cast. The second is it opens the door for tactical voting, whereby fellow writers in the competition vote strategically to maximise their chances of progressing. I’m sure establishing a fair system is challenging in this case, though, so its imperfection is forgivable.

In the ideal scenario everyone would read everyone’s writing, however in reality only a couple of percentage of users would do that so sadly this seems to be the middle ground. I appreciate the review and glad you’re enjoying it!
