This update adds an occasional, well-timed rating request after successful playback. It never interrupts playback, casting or Picture in Picture.

• Films and shows with more than one soundtrack now start in English, rather than whichever language the file happened to list first. • Choose your own default in Settings — pick any language and every title follows it. • You can still change the audio track from the player whenever you like. • Subtitles now have a preference of their own, and stay off unless you turn them on.

• A new spotlight at the top of the home screen featuring your latest additions. • Watch a title's trailer from its page. • See the cast of any movie or show, and jump from an actor to everything of theirs in your library. • Lock Screen and Control Center playback controls now work for every file type.

Downloads: keep films and episodes on your device and watch them with no connection to your server. Manage them from the new Downloads tab. Casting: your phone is now a proper remote for Chromecast, with a scrubber, play and pause, 15-second skips, volume and mute. Stopping a cast returns you to exactly where the television got to, and casting is far more reliable, with stalls and missing sound fixed.
