dB Meter is full of features sound level meter with exclusive accuracy of measurements plus Hearing test, Noise dosimeter, Spectrum Analyzer with RTA, FFT & Spectrogram.
Decibel Meter Pro is full of features sound level meter with exclusive accuracy of measurements and integrated Spectrum Analyzer. Calibrated with professional dB meter.
The world is a noisy place: cars, power tools, crowds, machinery, and other common sources produce amounts of noise that can, with continued exposure, lead to permanent hearing loss. Sound level meters are useful for anyone who wants to avoid exposing their ears to harmful noise levels, but who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on one?
dB Meter is free app which provides professional-quality measurement results, calibrated using an actual Nor140 high-precision decibel meter. With dB Meter, you can measure ambient noise levels, save your measurements and their locations, and share your measurements with others. dB Meter couples utility with stylish design and a polished user experience: a powerful tool in a sleek package, and at a tiny fraction of the cost of professional sound level meters.
(Please note that dB Meter Pro app is not a replacement for professional devices and should be used for personal purposes only.)

App works great, does what it says. App is as described & useful. Can’t comment on accuracy as had no stand alone decibel metre to compare it against but it seems to be roughly correct as what I’d expect.
There is a premium version that may be worth it for certain users but the free version is great for 99% of users. Hearing test feature is nice touch also.
FYI: If you want to check noise level of a Bluetooth speaker connected to your phone, it won’t work as it pauses the music as soon as you open app. This may, in part, be down to Apple. It would be great to see developers create a workaround (must be possible as snapchat uses camera and mic and leaves music playing). Not so much of a criticism but a suggestion for future updates.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your positive feedback. Will try to find some workaround to get it work as expected in future releases.
Looks a good one
Only had this for a day but it seems really useful.
For what I need it for I am sure it is accurate enough, the info and help files look comprehensive with lots of technical info which would leave me to believe it is quite accurate.
I have noticed one problem. The average reading slowly goes down to be the same as the minimum reading which is obviously wrong. In a test over a minute I had a maximum of 52 and a minimum of 23 with an average of 23!!!
Update. Since writing about the above problem with the average, the developer got back to me the same day to say he had found an error and would correct it in the next couple of days.
I have to say that is impressive, not only that the reviews are monitored but that the problem is sorted out so speedily. Good one. 😊
Developer Response ,
Thank you for such a positive feedback! The issue with average is persist in the latest update. It's a stupid math error in a rounding of decimal numbers. Will fix and release the update within couple of days. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Good app, but be careful as accidental purchase of App is too easy.
App is great, but the pop up messages can give rise to accidental purchases. Initially I felt quite angry, though got a refund from Apple. Moreover, the developer responded thoroughly, thoughtfully, and professionally. I think he is genuinely trying to build a great app, but is just struggling to stop accidental purchases. These seem the only problems reducing his AppStore rating, and so I am certain that he knows it is in his interests to correct the situation. On the basis that I would prefer to help a developer, than blame him for how easy Apple makes purchasing with touch or faceID I have adjusted my review from 1 to 4 stars. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is the problem around the App purchase design. Which I am sure he will be making efforts to improve.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your review. I'm working hard to improve this flow at the moment. I believe the work will be finished within a month or two and i'll get 5-stars from you. Thanks!
