De'Longhi Comfort 12+

App is fine and works well enough, infuriating how often you have to go through the 5 step process to log in to it though!

These CST Air con units seem to have the WiFi addition as an afterthought and the app just isn’t properly integrated and is full of bugs. Firstly it couldn’t see my orbi WiFi and no other machines have issues but luckily I had an eero and it connected to that. Some of the functions in the app just don’t work, on the main screen I can turn off my machine but not on I have to go to the previous ‘my machines’ page and toggle the on off switch. If I change the temperature the machine will change but the app will keep going back to displaying 18c. If I select ‘real feel’ the app asks for a power setting then says it’s checking surroundings and then just kinda times out and goes back to the previous setting. The schedule just flat out doesn’t work. On the main screen it permanently displays its 24c and 44% humidity. It says on the main screen by the picture of the cst remote that it’s ‘not in use’ I’ve tried repairing the remote and uninstalling and reinstalling the app but nothing changes. The machine itself is great and works flawlessly but this app needs to be updated as it’s fairly limited to what it can do which is a shame because if all its functions worked as they should it would be a really useful app.

Unsure how to get the device to connect to wifi, once paired with the phone it doesn’t detect any wifi networks. It would be useful if there were any meaningful technical documents. What’s the point in a smart device which can’t be connected to? Why do I need to connect it to the internet for my phone to control it, when my phone can connect to it via BLE?

Update: managed to get it to connect to wifi but the appliance still needs an always on internet connection which isn’t good. Automations regularly fail, the app regularly signs you out. It’s an expensive appliance which doesn’t work properly
