I have just did a quick play to see if freeze issue was fixed with last update and it appears to have fixed the issue. Game play is fun and immersive with visuals that are jaw dropping. I brought the second edition due to the fun and reply value of the first game. I gave 4 stars before but now the freeze issue been fixed I will give 5 stars now. Hard to see how a 3rd edition can be new but a larger map would be great even if this means smaller characters. Also try not be to linear with maps and game play. Try to have more than one path to an end point. Overall a very good game to while away many hours of play.

Best RPG I’ve played on iOS

Plays like XCOM transposed to a fantasy world. Tense strategic turn-based battles, amazing graphics and an atmospheric soundtrack. Every battle brings fresh challenges - it never feels repetitive. It really is my favourite RPG on iOS, pretty impressive achievement for an indie developer.

Rich gameplay, nice solo turn based strategy game

Plenty of bugs, but mostly minor ones. A definite must have for everyone who likes challenging RPGs like Darkest Dungeon or Wesnoth. If the dev is reading this, here’s a quick bug list:

1. Help text of skills need an update badly. Lots of skills do different things to what the description says. E.g. bloodmage 2nd skill that says it has a chance to give more attacks, but actually has a chance of boosting dmg. Or cataphract 2nd skill that says it increases attack of the unit, but actually increases attacks of nearby units as well... plenty more than these couple of examples.

2. Boosted stats randomly displays as higher than max. Sometimes adding items boost hit/crit chance above 100%

3. Viewing stats of an enemy often shows the stats of the last focus hero unit instead.

4. Skills sometimes fire in the wrong direction. Sometimes when having a hero in focus and selecting a skill with area effect, it doesn’t take two clicks to trigger effect (one to aim, one to execute) but just one instead in a seemingly random direction.

Other than the bugs, it’s a hugely enjoyable game, even though it gets a bit repetitive on the later levels and the game gets easy once you’ve got high level heroes with boosted items to match. A few hero skills are too good imho, most notably the orc “boost AP” skill, which is insanely good with high lvl heroes as you can replenish any hero from pretty much zero to full AP every single turn. It even works with the orc banner, you can throw a banner and boost the banner AP in the same turn, effectively allowing for an instant banner effect. Wherebear attack can be super charged as well by Orc by replenishing AP and ramping up his attacks with his zero cool down skill. So many unbeatable combos... I’d tweak down the orc skill to have a 2 turn cool down or something to make it less imbalanced.
