Diarly: Private Diary & Notes 4+

Theres an incredible simplicity to diarly so that from the second I open the app, there is nothing I have to think about except for my own thoughts. I really like the way that only the center of the page gets filled with text as it makes it harder to keep track of how much I have written and lets me just get lost in writing. I very much like how the entries are broken up into multiple days. I have tried the free trial for the premium service and it does seem good but personally I get all the functionality I need out of the base product, and I have a lot of respect for them putting out such a high quality base product without cramming it with ads. I don't normally write reviews but this app has really changed my life so I feel like I have to. Highly reccomend

I only given this app 4* due to fact I really enjoyed using it for almost daily digital journaling. I had install on ipad pro recently since the lockdown. Use it for good few months then tried a week free trial.
Not until last week and didn't get backup on icloud as i was using only trial version. The apps just crash on ipad and unable to log back in. It seem the developer of diarly just terminated my account. Tried opening the app many times I can remember but no luck. I decided to back up on icloud hoping for the data entry or previous journal from apps to save.
I deleted the apps and re-installed it, on my ipad and only seeing all my daily journal in last few months deleted and no way of retriving it. I accidentally paid for annual subcription for this app as I initally had free trail already.
Also lacking feature when you upload images, even to customise the colors of font or customising individual font on same page.
Developer should improved these sections of interface to make it more fun to use.

Not sure why it kept crashing on iPad - on Mac there was an issue with older Mac versions but that was fixed now.

Not sure about suggestion you mentioned - it should be possible to customize the fonts and colors:

I’ve been using Day One for years on and off but recently it seems it’s gotten a bit stale. Diarly has the same features and more, plus it seems to be adding new ones regularly. Loads more options to personalise the app with fonts, colour combinations. I love the mood of the day using emojis so you can quick glance at the calendar to see general mood of the month. Their pricing is just right and the fact I can share with my family is also a bonus. It’s almost perfect for my needs. Would love an option of lines when using the Apple Pencil.
