You're out on a walk with your dog and it does its business. You're a good dog owner, so you have a bag to pick it up with, but where's the nearest dog bin to throw it away?

'Dog Bins' is an app that will tell you where all the known dog bins are in your area.

It's that simple!

*** It's made by the users! ***

When you see a dog bin that isn't on our system, you can take a picture of it within the app and upload it. Then when the next person comes along, they'll be able to see that dog bin on their map.

*** Features ***

- Post a dog bin where ever you are,
- See all the dog bins logged in your area,
- Get more details about a dog bin by tapping on it,
- Search dog bins in an area,
- Find the closest dog bin within 250 meters on your Apple Watch.

What’s New

Version 3.7.0

- Updated for iOS 14
- Tweaked how the app looks a bit so it's a little less flat

Good idea

This seems to be a really good idea, but it's a bit annoying that you can't add locations without taking a photograph. Having just downloaded the app, there are a number in my local vicinity which I can log, but am unable to without physically standing in front of it to take a photo! Can't there be functionality to add locations and then add the photo later?

Wish the community were helpful

Being a developer myself and a dog parent, I understand the motivation behind the app. Reading the other reviews on the app, I’m frankly shocked. This is meant to be a community driven app and the more people are willing to put in, the better it is for everyone in the long run. So I think people who don’t understand that should just uninstall the app instead of defaming it with pointless reviews.

This app works perfectly. Sure you only can post the bin from the location. How hard is that ? I’ve added three within my neighbourhood to date and they were all reviewed and added to the map within a week.

I want to say to the developer .. Thank you for taking this on. Don’t let the critics get to you. You are making a difference to many pooches !

1 star for been a good idea.

The main issue with this app is the is too much faff so many don’t bother. You can only upload a photo when stood in front of the bin. For obvious reasons not one wants to stand clearly taking a picture of a dog poo bin.

Secondly your photos then has to be approved I see no reason why. When if I the street sign in the photos and GPS tracked me to the location.

I thought it would be a useful app to see the bing on my estate. But as it happens I’ve found all of them by walking around myself. And yes the are only 2 on an estate of 200 dogs if not more not inc the ones who walk their dogs on it but don’t live on it.

I was hoping for a better app as I read it’s been out since 2014. I had hoped it would have take off by now with easier systems for photos upload from the camera roll. And not need approving by admin. All that needs to happen is you submit you image. Then if a bin is took out or moved you can report it on the app. Apparently non of the 2 bins show up even in other areas non show up.

Sadly a waste of time effort and space on my phone. So as Deborah Meaden says for that reason I’m out.
