Working again
The latest update gets the app working again. Map tiles load and bench marks and trig points are displayed. Tapping on an icon opens a browser window from the relevant website. So far, so good. The interface is fairly obscure and isn’t intuitive. There seems to be bugs and as far as I can tell there is no way of getting help. The App Store link for getting support just returns a blank page.
There’s no competition and if you want to see what is around your current location, then this app works well. Syncing with T:UK and the BMD are essential, but seem unreliable.
Rudimentary
App is great for identifying locations of trigs, and the GPS easily helps you find them, but the app is very basic and functions a little clumsy. As there appears to be nothing else in the App Store that helps you identify and “bag” trigs, this is definitely the one you’ll need, but it would be great to see it developed to make the buttons easier to select, and to see a better menu display system.
Out of Date and won’t sync with Database
The information on the ‘condition’ of Trig Points that have changed condition in the last year has not been updated for over at least 12 months (in one example I can see it’s been almost 2 years) so there appears to be no active link between this App and the TP:UK database, or no one has proactively done anything to push an update of the data through…
Perhaps that’s why I cannot get the ‘Bagged’ Trigs to sync with those I have bagged on TP:UK on either my iPhone or iPad.
Really disappointing, as a tool it could have been so useful, but at present it’s not really worth bothering with TBH.
