Orence1966 ,

More detail please!

You make it sound so easy to sign up. It isn’t. You need a copy of your physical driving license, credit card details etc.
Please explain that - the step by step process you have to go through.
All this easy peasy sales talk will turn customers like me off!

There is no information anywhere about:
- where you can pick up scooters
- where you drop them off/park them.

I have been researching for 15 minutes: the web sites, apps and local transport authorities do not give this information.
Am I stupid or is this surely not the moat important information that people want to know??
Where can I collect a scooter?
Where do I have to park the scooter?
Can I travel from one borough to another, and then leave the scooter?
What is the range of the scooter?

Why would I spend time downloading the app without knowing how to sign up, where to collect, where can I travel and where can I park and how far can I travel.

Maybe that’s why no one is using them!!

Scooters have been used to death

While many major cities and tourist towns have got nice, good quality scooters (and sometimes even bikes!), my city (Elbląg) of more than a 100k people has got run down, used, old-gen and sometimes partially broken ones. Every single one of them has torn labels, the chassis’ aren’t great, faulty brakes and steering aren’t necessarily rare. It feels as if the used, older gen scooters in big cities have been thrown onto us in favour of the newer ones. Not that they can’t have them, but why can’t we? At the very least don’t throw your useless junk into us. Not only does their ugliness pollute the city, but their faultiness may cause accidents, which may seem like a problem applying only to certain scooters until you see how many of them have problems.
The only reason i’m giving 2 stars is because of the city zones. Compared to the only other competitor in the city, they’re much better, especially for my area. While they do need polishing in certain places, other than particular instances i think they’re good enough. While i also don’t like the paid unlocks, the passes are a great bargain and are worth it for the extended riding zones.
If the scooters weren’t absolutely terrible, i’d love the service.

Take your money before requiring ID... absolute scam

Should be immediately removed from the App Store they make you pay funds into your account before then saying you need your driving license. Who carries their driving license with them on a trip on a scooter?? Absolute con. I will be reporting this app to Apple right now.

Update following developer response: this is even more concerning! So you take money from children only to tell them 2 minutes later they can’t use the scooters without a driving licence. I feel like you truly are morally corrupt. TFL feedback here I come!

Update following second developer response: I understand you need proof of ID. But do you think taking money from customers BEFORE you confirm if they are allowed to use your service is morally good or morally bad? It’s like a pub charging people £20 as they enter to pay for their drinks only to be told as they walk to the bar, sorry you aren’t old enough to drink or sorry you are too drunk to be served anymore. I hope this makes sense. I think it’s fairly obvious what my issue is with your process.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your valuable feedback which has been shared with the relevant team. In this situation, we would like to process a full top-up refund. Do not hesitate to contact us via https://app.ridedott.com/contactUs. Thank you again!
