Ratings and Reviews
Works better than the desktop app
Connection to lights seems a lot more stable than the desktop app, and was required to complete the initial setup of the lights (the desktop version couldn’t see find the lights but mobile has no issue)
As has been mentioned, HomeKit and Siri integration would be a fantastic addition. Even better, enrolment into the Friends of Hue programme, so I could control all of my lights in one place.
Used to work (kind of)
This software just hides a simple unencrypted HTTP POST, but rather than remember which devices you have, it has to discover them every time - that's where the trouble lies.
Bin it and buy a Tapo smart plug, you won't be able to control the colours, but at least you can turn it off and on when you like instead of seeing the message "accessory not found"
Come on guys, when I first bought this I wrote to say this would happen - and got the brush off - unless you get the discovery right, please open up and promote your internal API so others can use a webpage, terminal or even a Stream Deck to get control over your rather nice hardware instead of being encouraged to use this excuse for an app.
Good but less clicks to turn off/on would be appreciated
Please add interactive widgets so we can turn the Elgato key light on and off without needing to open the app! Or an integration with the Shortcuts app with the same ability. This would make it 5 stars for me.
