Faraway 3 4+

I really like this game but I felt a drop in quality from its predecessors. In this game it feels less like I’m thinking through the puzzles and more like I’m just cruising along. Most of the puzzles were either easy or I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. A couple of times I accidentally completed the tutorials and then had to have a tough time working out the puzzles.

Also, as with the previous games, I just could not get invested in the story at all. It’s told through notes you have to find, meaning you will inevitably be missing pieces, and even with that it just didn’t feel like a good story. The end of the game has the player make a story-related decision (no more detail because spoilers) but I found myself clueless with what each side actually meant, and it doesn’t exact go out of its way to explain it.

Apart from these issues, great game. I can’t deny that some of these levels I very much enjoyed, and the visuals were still on point, it’s just not as good as the desert and jungle editions.

Genuinely loving this. Simple puzzles are good for chilling out without getting super frustrated and I really like the visuals - again simple (the cut scenes remind me of early tomb raider pulling switches) but so smooth and the animation is good. It’s fast and reactive, exactly what you want.

One thing I would say is after you get past the ad barrier and pay for the full game it gets less frustrating - maybe have this as a choice earlier?

Had to check the description as I started wondering if this was a child’s game. There are no actual puzzles in this game, they’re tasks, just stuff that you have to do to open a door or otherwise progress to the next bit. These do not qualify as puzzles as all of them tell you what you need to do either by markings on the wall next to the task or markers on the task itself, e.g you need to move a lever, but the point that you need to move it to is marked in orange, or you need to press a sequence of buttons but the sequence is on the wall in front of you!!! Zero challenge. Think of it as something to mindlessly pass time on rather than something that will engage your brain. £2.99 for the full version... I don’t think I’ll bother.
