Time for a refresh! We've been busy over lockdown bringing a fresh look to the app and making some changes to make the app easier to use and navigate. So what's changed we here you ask:
- You'll notice your profile now looks different with your items much easier to find
- Your activity and notifications are now consolidated and much simpler to manage
- We've changed the way rentals prices from 2-6 days are calculated to make it easier for lenders and borrowers to understand
- A UI refresh of a number of popular pages in the app

The app is getting there but needs improvement
My most recent issue with it is I was just typing some feedback for a borrower which needed a short explanation. However one the type box was filled I couldn’t see the words I typed after that.
Also when you upload images to support the description for a new listing, very often the images appear upside down and have to be corrected.
The account is very transparent about payments that you’ve earned and deductions which is great. Not sure about my approval metric percentage being adversely affected because a borrower mistakenly books one item but wants multiples of that item in another listing instead and wants the initial hire booing cancelled. The reasons your allowed to choose from are too limited.
It needs developing.
There are still some bugs but it’s more stable than before. Doesn’t freeze anymore. Works fine now there is no delivery option, which when active was extremely inflexible and made it impossible to fulfil request because of rigid collection and return times resulting in more work for lenders and frustrations for borrowers. The delivery service was a nightmare for the lender, would have been a great option had it been designed better for users and with flexible option to collect or return things late or early (because some of us have jobs and can’t be available whenever people want us to be)
My main current issue is: When a request comes through it will be at the top of your Notification list where you would expect it, but if you look at it before accepting the request, it will then disappear randomly into that list where it’s really hard to find, and you may have to scroll down through 20 or more old notifications trying to find that most recent Notification. Every time you want to find it! Why does the app do this?? Surely the most recent post should stay in that order regardless of if you open it or not, I.e. most recent notifications stay at the top of the list, like in an email inbox.
Please fix this!
Great App with good potential
Needs to work out some kinks such as easier viewing of all of a lenders items and a few other polishes and it will be perfect. Great protection on paper and seems really safe given the smaller community.
EDIT: Had my first claims process over a damaged item. I’d recommend just paying for the repair out of your pocket and avoid negotiations if you have any doubts about cooperation otherwise you will struggle coming to a simple agreement. Still currently waiting (after 2 months) for a replacement from the borrower after a semi-cooperative negotiation which was complicated by an external agreement outside of Fatllama terms. They will try to keep both parties happy for their own reputation rather then pick sides.
