How dare this app be so amazing? I've had fing for years and have depended on it always for help with troubleshooting and setting up networks, mainly my home LAN. I also really appreciate that, for a free app, it has only gotten better over the years and added truly useful features. A particular recent favourite is the proper bandwidth speed test. I also also appreciate that while the app exists to encourage people to upgrade to the security and convenience of an actual FingBox, it never annoys you with that fact or cripples its functionality. The app is so good, that I've decided I'll get a FingBox as soon as I can afford one. But even if you never intend to get one, this is an invaluable tool for anyone working with networks, and I hope it always sticks around. To be honest it's one of those rare apps that I would pay for rather than lose it. It's that good. Get finging now! It's so well designed that you'll probably learn more about networking and your setup. I know I did. Thanks fing. I love each and every one of you.

And my fingbox is still in the draw. Unwanted and no longer used. Update: I really hoped Fing would see the error of going premium and sort out all the annoyed users. But alas nothing has changed. Weirdly I put my Fing box on eBay and nobody bid on it. Update: Premium features not for the loyal long term customers who have been with you from the start. Guess no camera feature for us. Trying to sell my Fing box no buyers yet. Update: Thanks for reply but I bought this product BEFORE the over priced premium was introduced. So either you give it to existing users or buy my product back. There is a LOT of people complaining. This is completely unfair. And don’t think that £42 a year at half price is a great deal. Seriously just give me my money back for the Fing box if you can’t help. Original: As a Fing box owner, there hasn’t been much in the way of new features for a long time. Now they finally offer some new features of which some used to be standard features but now come at a premium. This is all rather confusing and annoying. I don’t mind paying for the Fing box and if there was a once off app fee I’d be happy with that or if there was a small yearly fee of say £6 then also cool but not £6 a month or more and Fing box was all suppose to be a free once purchased. I am fuming....and confused and still annoyed the Fing box itself hasn’t really improved over the years like it was suppose to.

Do not fall for this like me! Please also note that I 100% have never downloaded this app or used up a “free trial” as I have never required or heard of! I stupidly out of concern paid the both the £2.99 basic option which claimed finds hidden cameras… ran a search, which said had found many devices but could would only work on the “upgraded plan” option so out of genuine worry, I agreed to upgrade to premium of a further £6.99 based on the very clear “start with a 7days free trial. Cancel anytime”. However, they charged the further £6.99 straight away on top of the initial £2.99. When the scan finished it didn’t find half my smart devices / phones but more importantly even the 2 cameras I have running that are active on the network! Also Literally no way of figuring out the devices they found as unlabelled. I cancelled and deleted the app within hours of downloading once I realised it did not work but also that they had charged the “free 7 day trial” however although my bank was charged and I have the invoice they show the purchase as no invoice; so not eligible for refund. Despite escalating to Apple the developer refused to refund. I have escalated To Apple again and they have escalated as I clearly have no history of this app previously and cancelled within hours! Can’t speak about historic of the app but certainly from my experience would certainly play on the genuine fears of many people…hence why we/ they would be seeking this app. If this review saves others from falling for their tactics it’s worth the £2.99 and £6.99 I have been ripped off.

I have recently invested in two boxes to monitor my home and business routers (as I work from home too and like to keep the usage against each separate) and have found the app extremely useful. However yesterday we had two power outages to the property and, as a consequence, received vast alerts as Devices went off-line and then came back on-line. Would it not be a useful feature to suppress so in the event either the fing box or the router went off-line only alerts for these were generated as it is taken that if these go off-line and then come back on-line that the connected devices will do the same. In essence this then allows alerting of the fing boxes and the routers and receipt of alerts if individual devices go on and off-line other than due to power issues on the fing boxes or routers.
