Outstanding

I’ve tried many app driven gym sessions and I now genuinely feel that I’ve found a winner. Not only is the app easy to use, I can build my workout around me. Due to the short how to use simulations, for each exercise, the app is effectively showing me how to exercise correctly. Being able to log what weights I’m working with, how many reps and sets on each exercise or machine, means the app tracks my progress and then pushes me on. The customer support on the app is also very responsive. The app is genuinely getting me to the gym on my designated days as I’m enjoying sticking to my plan. I was so close to starting with a personal trainer. Now, I’m extremely glad I didn’t. The app is everything I need!

Nicely designed but not for serious gym goers

I’m looking for a well thought out gym app and I’m happy to pay for one but I find this app lacks substance. I completed my first work out yesterday and it wanted me to complete back and triceps’s in 40 minutes with five different exercises. In my opinion there should be more more then five exercises within each work out; in fact I went off grid and added my own back exercises as the ones suggested didn’t hit all the muscles of my back. Also the suggested weights at the start are ridiculous. Lat bar pull down suggested 25kg. I was able to start with 50kg. The app could work around this by asking users for more details when they sign up to gauge their level of fitness. They also need to offer an additional 50 minute work out (who works out for 20 minutes?) I’m also curious as to how many different exercises are stored in their library and how much variation you get.

On the plus side the app is well laid out and easy to use but I’m not prepared to wait two weeks to see if it’s suitable for my needs.

Great app, some room for improvement

What I love: takes the guesswork out of the gym. I don’t have to think about or mess with a workout plan, I just open my app and do what it says. This is exactly what I was looking for and helps me with motivation. The app is really easy to use, from marking your sets as complete to changing the weight or exercise if you need to.

What could be better: nothing about warm up or cool down. Does the app recommend one? This is something you do have to think about, would be good to have a warm up based on the exercises you’re going to do that day. Core training; it’s always there under the main exercise, should it be done every day/ every training session? It isn’t clear if it’s there as an optional to do or if you should do it as part of the routine.

Overall: I’ll continue using the app for each gym session, I really like the layout and simplicity and would recommend it to others.
