Excellent, excellent, excellent!!
Having first gone through about 5 higher ranking flash card apps, I ended up with the NKO app. It is exactly what I was hoping for, and appears to be an app that will be useful long into the future with it’s flexibility, ability to have multiple ongoing projects, variety of quiz styles, and what appears to be active development. You really don’t need to look any further if you need a flash card learning tool.
It’s incredible how many flash card apps were unsuitable for my current simple requirements. I’m using this as a phonics tool to store tricky words my yr.1 daughter is learning. I simply wanted a stack of cards or slides with the words she could browse through and practice reading. Key to this was the ability to easily add to the stack. This app handily checks that requirement. But as an unexpected bonus, the app also allows me to quickly record my reading of the word, so if my daughter needs help with a word she can simply click an icon on the card to hear the recording played back. No need for her to ask for help if working on her own. This is only scratching the surface of what this app can do.
Note for developers: It would be a good idea if there was a way for users to try out all the different quiz types. (I could probably be convinced to go for a paid version for future learning.)

Awesome app great developers!
I wanted a flashcard app for language learning (Thai) so tried out all the flashcard apps I could find. Some were 'flashy' but seriously lacking the most basic functionality and others had some things I wanted but not everything whilst others just didn't work well.
Flashcards NKO had everything I wanted, worked well and seemed to be highly customisable for any future requirements I might want but didn't yet know about not to mention the games and quizzes so I decided to go with it and what a good move that has turned out to be!
After a month or so of using the app I decided to go for the family edition on a yearly subscription as am also using it with others to help with home schooling and have to say 6 months on it has more than already paid for itself.
The developers are very active, proactive and responsive to suggestions regularly rolling out updates to improve functionality and increase the scope of the app for what would seem to be a diverse user base.
It would be impossible to review all the possibilities of this app so I would highly recommend giving it a go if it is the kind of thing you are looking for and any problems working things out along the way just contact the developers who will more than likely already have a solution for you otherwise they will most probably consider it for future development.

A thank you and request for the devs: First, thank you so much for making a Flashcards app that’s adaptable so the font can be made huge. Too many apps try to be modern & ‘clean’ which is often just loads of blinding white and small text, so I really appreciate the aesthetics of the app. I also love the games, especially Spelling as I can practice writing Chinese characters. Would love more games like this in the future! My request, since I can’t find a contact email, is to please add the option to change text colour. It would be really useful but if it’s there then I can’t find it. Thank you! :)
