Description
Don’t throw it away – give it away on Freegle!
Offer and request free items on your local Freegle UK reuse community.
It's easy to offer an unwanted item that you want to get rid of, along with a photo. Anyone interested will get back in touch via the app - and you'll be notified by email. You choose who to give it to and arrange for them to come and pick it up.
If you fancy a freebie, ask for things that others are offering - or post a request. Keep an eye for wanted requests as you may have something that someone needs.
Everything must be free and legal. Some local communities have extra rules such as no pets.
Be safe and nice when making arrangements to meet - if you can't make it, say so immediately. Never pay courier fees for delivery - it is a scam.
Reusing items saves you money, clears your clutter, helps your neighbours, saves the world's resources and reduces the amount going to waste.

Ratings and Reviews
Not a bad app but…
This app serves its purpose and using it is certainly easier and more convenient than starting up the desktop etc. However, I tend to find myself staring at the screen for inspiration to find my way round the app. This may be my failing as I have the same problem with some other apps. It seems that the simpler they are made, the less intuitive they become.
One thing which doesn’t happen with other apps is the lack of basic text formatting: there is no uppercase leader in sentences; double-pressing the space bar does not produce a full stop; pressing the carriage return sends the message rather than creating a new line. Admittedly not the end of the world but these are now widely accepted formats and it does help when giving somebody directions etc.

Thanks for your useful feedback. There is an option at the very bottom of Settings to change what the enter key does - if you choose this then the other auto formatting now works. We found that many people thought they had sent messages when it defaulted the other way round.
Great Concept, Poor Interface
Absolutely love the concept and it is easy to load things up to offer. However messaging through the app is painful - there doesn’t appear to be any logic in how many tones or what combination of the done and send arrow you have to hit to actually send the message. Sometimes it simply crashes out or the message disappears entirely. I’m hoping this is a glitch with the new iOS but other reviewers obviously have similar problems.
There are some great little features-adding photos to messages, easily clicking a button to send directions, update availability or quickly send a confirmed offer. The menus at the top aren’t always hugely intuitive but a little bit of playing around opens up the huge wealth of functionality which is great.
The 3 stars is because the need to be able to message quickly and easily is pretty fundamental to the app’s usability. Sort this and it’s and easy 5.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you found some useful functionality. We are working - within our limited means - on a new version which will hopefully improve the messaging. Keep on Freegling please!
Pretty good!
I prefer it to using the website because of notifications when you’re offering something and someone asks, but a couple improvements would be welcome in the messaging side of things and the listing side.
When messaging using return to send is slightly non-intuitive; rather it was labelled Send or there was a separate post button so we could have paragraphs.
When reviewing a listing it would help to have the buttons for things like marking the item taken up-front rather than having to scroll through messages relating to the item. This may be a personal preference, but given there’s a menu bar item for conversations I never use the post to review contacts.

Thanks for the feedback, which I'll pass on to the developers. With the app, you can opt to get notifications too.The default is indeed that pressing return sends a chat message - many people got caught out when it was the other way round. You can change this at the bottom of Settings.
