Albutie ,

Poor navigation.

Updated app.. date now changes but.. say I search 5 days ahead, BBC1 highlights and shows programs for the date searched and you can scroll up to see what’s on that day. Now tap on any other program and it reverts to what’s on later. This means to view what’s on that say across channels I have to put date in again and again. Easier if a date could be selected and whichever program you choose the schedule is for that day a now button would help go back to present time. Not tried on IPad as no update showing. Only update shown for iPhone. Hold on...this does work ok on the iPad I’ve just checked it. Now it’s not. Confused. An app with a mind of its own. Seems to work on iPad if I set date back from Today but not forward. Later shows instead of date set. Update. Latest app on iPad works for date change but as above reverts to what’s on later if another channel selected.

Hi Albutie,
We released an updated version today of the app today that addresses a particular issue with the date navigation in the TV Guide. We'd love it if you could try this updated version and let us know how it goes!

Better than nothing.

The app hit a new low this month, sending a continual stream of requests to record the same program. You’d think that either the app or the FreeSat box would realise that setting up 23 recordings of the same program (and still going) would be an error. There isn’t a polite word for the quality of this app.

It’s frustratingly close to being good. Remote control on my iPhone doesn’t work but I can live without that. Yes, I can set a recording via the app but the app then locks up forcing me to close and reopen it. And while I can set up to four simultaneous recordings directly on my 4k Freesat box if I try to set more than two via the app the app asks me which one of the two I already have set up I wish to cancel. Freesat ain’t free: it’s paid for via the TV licence so it’s a shame that a little more effort isn’t being put into finishing the app.

App does not work with new Freesat 4K recordable box

We recently purchased the new Freesat 4K recordable box (delivered only a week ago).

Unfortunately, neither of us have been able to successfully link our iPhone 7s to the new 4K recordable box via this Freesat app, which is supposed to allow us to link (pair) our mobile phones to our Freesat box - thus allowing our iPhones to act as a remote control.

Also, we are unable to do standard programme scheduling successfully as the app does not not show any programme that is scheduled and we cannot edit/delete watched programmes.

This is very disappointing especially as the manual for the new Freesat 4K recordable box advertises the use of the Freesat app for users of iOS devices, hence why we downloaded the app from the App Store.

We contacted Freesat Customer Support last week about this and was advised this is a known issue and, as yet, iOS users cannot pair with the Freesat 4K recordable box and we have to wait until such a time an update/patch us released. This is surely something which should be highlighted to customers, as at the moment we can see no mention of this issue by Freesat.

As an aside to the app, we also find Netflix is not working on our new recordable box and this has reported and now escalated to the Freesat technical team - and we are still awaiting a ‘fix’ on this.

All-in-all, a very poor start as new Freesat customers only one week in to using this system.
