Hooked

Girls’ Frontline is the first gatcha like game I’ve played and I’ve been enjoying since, be it hardcore or casual.

Characters are all very likeable with a select few being out right fantastic, be it in design or personality, I specially like the chibi versions of the girls when battling or chilling in the dorms.

Being extremely new player friendly and not pay to win, I highly recommend Girls’ Frontline to new and experienced gatcha/strategy/mobage players.

Could be Better

Several glaring problems that make the game harder to enjoy, Gameplay is okay. However connection to the server takes too long, sometimes it even freezes and i have to reconnect to my wifi and the game for it to work, the game works of turns and if every turn has a chance of the game having a connection error then it makes it difficult and annoying to play. I also have to log in to my facebook every time i open the game which is annoying as hell, why can’t the game remember my log in? They tried to make the gacha interesting with a crafting system of sorts, though its unnecessary as it doesn't result in specific units but a class of unit overall. Probably would be better to just to make it simpler UI and method instead of fiddling with meaningless numbers and presets for nothing. Too many resource requirements to hamper progress and limit play time, There’s 4 resource types that pretty much acts like stamina, sure you get a lot at the beginning but when the mission and quests start to get harder to complete and there are less of them, waiting for them to regenerate is a huge pain, especially when they only generate 1 resource a minute( 1 mission could use up to 100 to over a 1000 resources) . You have to repair your units after every mission and it gets tedious real fast.
Other than that it’s an okay game, unique turn based game with a hint of strategy involved.
