Go Jauntly is a free award-winning walking, wayfinding and nature connection app. You don’t need to travel to the great outdoors for a great hike. Discover the greenest, quietest, least polluted walks in your local area.
We help you discover new walking routes straight from your door, connect you with everyday nature. Point you in the direction of the greenest route from A to B, helping you to become happier and healthier.
Personal walking challenges are there for you to track your steps and activity. Enjoy every micro adventures on foot and celebrate your daily walking wins through our free and open walking challenges. We use your HealthKit activity data to log your progress so you can collect walking stamps and badges.
Nature Notes encourages you to note down the “good things” in everyday urban nature helping to play a role in self-management of mental health and wellbeing. Go Jauntly is your encyclopaedia for walks of all sorts. Each jaunt has a description to show you how far you’ll be going and how long it should take, as well as photographic guides to keep you on the right track.
Indulgent
A great idea. But when I checked local walks in E Kent, they were self indulgent posts of people’s photos, not a photo based guide to a route.
I can ignore them of course, but there may be a danger in allowing people who don’t understand the concept in posting their material. It could swamp the ap. Maybe edit out rubbish if resources allow?
Update - The developer has explained that part of the idea was to allow posting of highlights but not necessarily full walks - which seems a good idea. Plus they do curate offerings. So for me it’s 5 star now.
A bit like Wikipedia. Improves as we add content and may eventually have thousands of entries. So be patient if no walks near you yet.

We've been piloting in London and have lots of walk in West Kent are are making our way East imminently. We have some great walks in Whistable and Margate and we are monitoring the content and doing exactly what you suggested - whoop! Please note that you can report any issues or concerns with routes via the walk in-app and we hope that the community continues to feedback and promote their favourite walks. Every walk that gets created and shared is getting better and better and sometimes it is just about showcasing an amazing place or points of interest and the other person enjoying a leisurely wander in that destination and either improving on the walk by curating their own or just being outdoors. Check your home area
I bought the full version of this app whilst on holiday in North Wales. There was a great range of walks that seemed to be clearly described. The weather turned really bad so didn’t get to use them but was looking forward to using the app to help me explore my home area. Unfortunately once back home it has no walks in my area at all. There is one approx 30 mins drive and that is (quite literally) a pub crawl round some quite nasty pubs. There are a few countryside walks approx 40 mins drive away and the rest are an hour or more. I could of found walks that distance away myself. I’ve since had a look at other apps that seem to of managed to find quite a few decent walks within a reasonable distance (that aren’t pub crawls). So I’ve basically paid £20 for something that I haven’t actually used and probably never will.
Edit: I have applied for a refund through Apple but of course I am outside of the 14 days so it was immediately declined, so the fact that I’ve been ill is irrelevant to them.

Have you got any other holidays coming up? Hopefully you’ll be able to use the app’s premium features then too. We’re a self-funded, tech for good venture, to try and help get more people walking. We want the app to remain free so we’re accessible to as many people as possible but are super grateful when people like yourselves help us to cover the costs of running the app by upgrading for a month or longer like you. You can of course continue using all the free features like the walking map and ourselves and the community are adding more walks to the app all the time.
