Almost Brilliant Simulator

Very impressed with this game. The fact there is no adverts or IAP is refreshing and makes it feel grown up. I just hope that the developers don’t stop developing, the game is great but has a few issues. Lagging on iPhone X is annoying, isn’t always noticeable but then at times is embarrassing considering the processor in the X. The menus are annoying and need sorting with an update. Navigating them is painful and glitchy, with them moving it seems on their own. Settings, especially the camera tilt seem to default back on when the menu suggests it is off. Toggle on and off and it sorts itself in the game. The physics of the car is strange, feels a little bit disconnected from the tarmac. Although I appreciate this is more of a sim than RR3 it does feel like you are floating along the track at times, RR3 physics seem more real. Side ways drift on the track at times seems unrealistic at low speeds. Interior of cars is poor and looks like it isn’t finished? I always prefer to use the internal views and these are poor compared to the rendering of the exterior of the cars. Maybe some more animation of dials etc would be nice! All in all this is a great game with massive potential if they listen to the users and continue to update. Sadly other pay once games seem to get left without updates and improvements.
Fingers crossed this is not the case...

Brilliant

I'm totally baffled by the reviews stating lag and stutters on iPhone X. I'm playing on (the officially unsupported) iPhone 6s and it's a joy to play. Perhaps the graphics are tuned way down compared to X but it looks really nice to me. The 6s is listed in the compatible devices in the app store description but upon launching the game a pop up appears saying it will run but you may experience glitches. Well so far it's been nice and smooth. Incidentally the iPhone SE with the same hardware as the 6s IS officially supported. I can only imagine it's down to the 6s having to push more pixels due to the larger screen, but honestly it plays so well on 6s I have no idea why it's not on the official support list.
Game is huge with generous content for your tenner. The cars all have their own characteristics and the tracks look fantastic. The flashback system is nice for when you want a casual race without the pressure of one mistake ruining your run.
The only tiny gripe I have is that the camera select button in game is not aligned to its touch area. By this I mean I need to touch slightly below the camera icon to actually change camera angle. I discovered this after initially thinking it was totally broken and restoring to the outside menu to change camera. This bug may possibly be 6s specific? I'm using the default HUD layout.

Blown away!

I’ve been playing this game on an iPhone 8 for several weeks and I’m absolutely stunned by how good it is. The graphics are extraordinary, I’ve never seen anything nearly this good on a mobile device. There’s no ads, bugs or crashes and the whole game feels well designed and solid. In terms of the gameplay, you have the choice to build a career or play a variety of ‘quick games’ on any track or car of your choice - so you can head out in a top end sports car and crash it immediately! I was concerned by other reviews the driving controls and physics were poor - the developers have allowed users to fully customise the controls in a very clever way, meaning (with a bit of experimenting) you can set up the phone and handling to your liking. I recommend doing this early on. You can also turn off driving aids (eg traction control) to make the handling more realistic and also change performance of your competitors. Once the settings are right, the gameplay is really engaging and fun.

I take my hat off to the developers. Worth absolutely every penny.
