Q: Can I create or edit sheet music with this app?
A: Unlike Guitar Pro for Windows and Mac, this app does not let you change the notation in an existing Guitar Pro file, or create sheet music in standard notation. It is however possible to edit a single-track tablature with the NotePad tool and export your work into .gpx and .gp formats to finish your composition in Guitar Pro 6 or 7. Editing a drum track is not available with the NotePad tool.

Getting impatient...

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great app. Clean and (generally) straightforward interface for viewing and playing interactive tabs. You can’t edit full scores but you can use the notepad to transcribe those budding ideas.

...but my gripe starts hear. Once you have a notepad file you want to develop into a full composition, you can export them for editing on their desktop software. Although not a difficult process, it’s more tedious than it needs to be (especially by today’s app standards). Why there still isn’t a synchronise feature for notepad files, I don’t know.

Instead of
App Notepad > Export > Email > Desktop Import

You could (via sync)
App Notepad > Continue on Desktop

I just find it an inconvenience that interrupts the composing process; either the iOS app needs to be more functional, or the transition to desktop needs to be more seamless.

More iCloud Drive support would be nice

I use iCloud Drive to store all of my GP files on, as I use 3 different machines to edit my scores. The only “Locations” available are “On My iPhone” or “mySongBook”. To view my tabs I must go through On My iPhone, then to iCloud Drive, and then select a file individually. It would be great to add a directory (my tab folder in iCloud Drive) for the app to default to. It would make sense for me to be able to export my Note Pad tabs to said folder too.

It’s an ok app, but it lacks a lot of functionality that could be easily implemented. I understand not being able to edit existing GP files, but simple folder and export options would make it much better.

No manual, no instructions, no help files. Nothing. Mystery. I need the app to be able to scroll horizontally. Doing so would allow me to record the screen and add scrolling tab on the bottom of my tutorial videos without messing with the PC at all, by just using my Ipad and Lumafusion. Even better, we need a zoom function and a fullscreen mode for the score for sight reading, this while the score is scrolling, horizontally, a line at a time. Once I see these features, I will change this review into a 5 star one.

Also, we need a DIAGRAM GENERATOR, where I can create a diagram QUICKLY and save it as a image, so that I can use the diagrams in my teachings. In other words, we need the program to be fit for TEACHING ONLINE too
