AmpliTube gives you a massive collection of virtual gear that you can use to practice, play and record with world-class tone anytime and anywhere.

AmpliTube CS gives you 7 stompbox effects, 3 amplifiers, 3 speaker cabinets and 2 mics, a free Loop Drummer Rock groove pack and a 2-track recorder.

You can expand this via a massive library of over 150 amps and stompboxes from top brands like Fender™, Ampeg®, Orange®, Mesa/Boogie®, and many more, or unlock the rigs of your heroes with gear from Joe Satriani, Dimebag Darrell, and Brian May.

Ready to hit the stage? AmpliTube’s Live Mode offers an optimized GUI for live use, with all the settings and controls you need in an easy-to-read format.

Great sounds

Being a novice guitar player, I thought I would try this after finding the IRig guitar in an electronic store. My setup consists of a Tanglewood Evolution Electro Acoustic Guitar and Marshal acoustic amp. I am absolutely sold on the sounds and experimentation it offers. Noise and feedback are not an issue as these are controllable and some of the effects are simply amazing especially the Fender pack add in. Add the 8 track recorder add in and you have a great all round effects, drum looper and recorder for a fraction of the cost - not counting the cost of an iPad. Absolutely brilliant, it can even make me sound good.

Great idea but not convinced enough

Could have been great but get's overly concerned with making money. It offers nice features and a really plush interface which looks great on my iPad, but then comes the sting. You can buy individual effects pedals and amps or buy multi-pack deals, which are not too badly priced but they certainly add up. Then you can't use them on other devices, literally if you want to play with your iPhone, iPod-Touch or Mac-book version then you need to cough up for them a second, third and fourth time. Very disappointing since Garage band offers similar virtual effects and amp emulators for a fraction of the cost (free with your mac-book of course) and if you are going to pay over the odds you may as well buy Logic and have the whole shebang. A great idea ruined by greed basically. Not worth investing in the full paid version until they sort out the portability!

Amplitube free

I think is good for what it is! I also would not use this on stage but as a way of practising on my own and jotting down new ideas it's great. My brother and I write together but live 70 miles apart. When I get inspiration late at night I just plug it in an there's a quick demo I can send! There are much higher quality production units available but I don't see this as a replacement just an addition. A bit like an iPad won't replace your laptop or pc! However, the tuner is great when doing acoustic gigs as I might forget a pedal but never leave home without my iPhone!
