Was overcharged £60 in 2015 and sent multiple emails before finally getting a refund - I think (I'm not even sure -but seems they didn't charge for the following two months as a way of refund -I had to work it out myself as they didn't send me any email explaining that's what they were going to do ) If they are making enough money through the app then invest some money in improving client service - it will do them good long term.

The cleaners quality do differ. Only work with the ones that are highly rated I think. I now have a regular person that I work with , which is good. Will use the app as long as this person is still working I think ; if she quits then I'll have to reconsider.

I’ve used Handy since they were brand new, and today I’m cancelling my account with them after too many recent issues. They used to be fantastic - reliable, great pros, good booking system etc. I recommended them to everybody. But recently they often have no pros available but don’t tell you until the day of your scheduled clean, leaving you no time to find a replacement. They have also sent some pros recently who are not great and do not do a thorough job, instead they just move everything around slightly and quickly wipe the surfaces to give the illusion of being clean. Today I had a booking as I have guests coming this weekend - I rescheduled meetings so I could be home to let the pro in. Handy cancelled my booking just 30mins before they were due to arrive, with no warning. Instead of sending a different pro, or rescheduling for later today, they rescheduled automatically for next week and sent an automated email telling me so. I’m disappointed and frustrated, and I’ve had enough so won’t be using them again. Handy seems to have gotten too big and lost human oversight of its automated system. There are other competitors out there now who have overtaken Handy, in my opinion.

I joined only 2 days ago. Since then I’ve been charged 2 complete cleaning fees and 3 cancellation fees. I’ve had no cleaning yet! The minute you join and enter your card information, whatever you press in the app ends up being a charge on your card. Did you not like the random pro that was assigned to you and want to change it? £10.
Do you need to change the dates because you didn’t realize the app was going to book cleaning for the next 4 weeks for you with random pro’s? £10. Do you need to add a booking? £80. You get charged for changing the time of cleaning even if the booking is in 1 week. Their 24 hour cancellation policy is a lie. They charge you fees no matter when you change a booking even if it is 2 weeks in advance. And the app is intentionally confusing. It doesn’t let you choose a pro initially so then you’re stuck with having to change things and BoOM! You guessed it! Cancellation fee galore!
And good luck opting out of the app altogether. Then they slap you with a £90 something plan cancellation fee.
This indeed is a scam.
