Haunted Hotel: Ancient Bane HD - A Ghostly Hidden Object Game 9+

This has to be one of my all time favourite's a game full of action and the bonus will pull at your heartstrings! Getting about is easy by Teleport which makes a huge difference (all games should have one) A good selection of mini games and not too bad HOS (though I think the pros like us that play day & night are getting a little tired of HOS all the time) HOS now need to be spiced up and be Much More Imaginative to keep the want to play going. This is a great game. Excellent story, characters and flows along nicely without becoming tedious. I love it.

I’d read the reviews before buying this game and now think I must be in a parallel universe. There are so many things I really didn’t enjoy;
▼ story line very weak
▼ too many cut scenes
▼ too many cut scenes, ending with “useful” objects to use
▼ too many ‘Hidden Object Scene’ which added nothing to the game.
▼ over elaborate interface, sometimes making it difficult to see what’s going on because it has been over designed
▼ difficult to select objects because you have to select the exact ‘pixel’ that identifies it
▼ selecting objects in inventory does not leave a description up long enough to be read, less than half a second
▼ repeat selection of the object, in order to read the text merely brings up additional texts about how bad you’re doing at the game
▼ selecting “Hint” will sometimes take you another room, no hints shown(?)
▼ reselecting “Hint” then brings up the “Teleport” function(?)
▼ the ‘teleport’ function is a nice idea but it’s only there because there isn’t a map, and therefore it would be almost impossibly to navigate without it.
▼ looks nice but somehow lacks any real cohesion making the whole exercise seem a little tedious.
▼ overall had a lot of potential but the lack of attention to detail let it down.

Sorry to seem a little harsh because a lot of work has been put into creating this game and it shows but, for me, it spoiled the enjoyment of what could have been a very good experience.

I adore this game,so much so, that I keep putting off my review because I didn't want to stop playing it. I was, x, I am, deeply taken with the graphics, and, the storyline is mastermind!. I'm just gutted that I'm at the end now. I can't believe that the end is here. I thought there would at least be a bonus added treat. Never the less it was very Captivating.
