Description
Hazard Perception Test. Pass your HPT first time!
Pass the Hazard Perception Part of your theory test first time.
The Hazard Perception Test (HPT) is the second part of the driving theory test. Practice your hazard perception test with clips licensed from The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the people who set the test. The application includes clips to test your reaction time.
This application reproduces the experience of the real test. You identify the correct hazard by touching the screen on your device. The earlier you identify the hazard the more you score. The scoring goes from five to zero points. When you finish a clip you can play it in review mode to see exactly when the hazard begins and ends.
APPLICATION FEATURES
* Includes 9 hazard perception revision clips licensed from The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the people who set the test.
* The app saves the best and the worst score for each clip and the number of attempts to record your progress.
* Suitable for:

- Learner Motorcyclists
- LGV Drivers

Ratings and Reviews
NOT the DSA clips
This app and the Part 1 are quite good, very similar to the DSA clips but NOT the same. The other main difference is that in this practise test, you can click as many times as you want (up to 18) without penalty.
BEWARE in the test, be very careful to only click when you see a definite hazard, and then click only once or twice (maybe 3 if the hazard is still developing). If you click more you risk being disqualified from that clip and scoring 0. This happened to me on two clips - on one I only clicked 8 times in total, including the 2 definite hazards.
The danger of getting a zero in the test clips is not really spelt out, as the rules are rather vague.
Worth noting that each part of these practise tests have 9 clips but some are the same in part 1 and 2, so the total number of different clips in the 2 parts is about 14.
Value for Money?
I bought the HPT 1 first and then downloaded the HPT 2, i was disappointed that Clip 8 and Clip 9 are the same as clips included in HPT 1, feels like a rip off.
Not suitable for the iPhone
I'm not sure whether it is as a result of the videos' resolution or the iphone's screen size but some hazards are impossible to spot early enough to get full marks. Even when the videos are replayed with the hazard highlighted - it is you find yourself trying to interpret what a small blob of pixels is as as the timer counts down.
