The device seems fine and is consistent with other data I have. However, the logging process in the app is dire. Each part of the log needs to be ‘confirmed’ - including the time the entry refers to - but if you get that wrong (like making an entry an hour or two after the event) you cannot edit it. In fact, you can’t edit anything you log. I have many empty logs because I clicked ‘confirm’ at the point that ‘ok’ would make sense in any other app. The data display is a bit clunky. Why can’t I scroll seamlessly across days? Why is there no tabular data? Why can’t I export the data without using the iCan Care Partner dialogue (the NHS is not an iCan Care Partner)? This could be so much better.

App needs a lot of work

Very frustrating as it took *ages* to even register an account because it got stuck in a loop around the registration process and in the end I had to try a different email address to get it to work. Not very happy about that as I’m not keen on having to register for unknown Chinese applications and really don’t see why they should need my email to take a blood sugar reading!Also, I’m afraid it’s nowhere near as accurate as my KM blood tests. Measured just seconds apart, the readings were considerably different. At one point the iCan gave me an ‘alert’ for high blood sugar, but at the time I tested my blood and it was fine! From the blood strip I was showing 6.4 mmol/l, but at the same time the CGM was showing 9.8, ie nearly 40% difference. A while later the CGM *did* track a lower value, but even then it was still about 20% out compared to a blood test. This morning it woke me up at 6AM with an alert, when my glucose was just fine - it even showed it was fine in the notification!!!The app is *functional*, but not great. It’s very clunky to use and doesn’t sync with Apple health etc. which you’d generally expect from health apps on iOS these days. Also, when you add in ‘events’ such as meals etc. if you make an error there’s no way to edit or delete the value once it’s entered.Really, not that great. Needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch.

Good device, poor app

The device itself appears to be reasonably accurate as compared to 2 other fingerpick devices, they are consistent. The app however is rubbish. I’m seemingly unable to log lunch, irrespective of what I do it default to saving my lunch at midnight rather than 12 noon, same issue for the whole of that hour, so if I log a lunch at 12:07pm it will log it at 12:07 AM and this cannot be corrected. It also cannot be deleted or edited so whilst testing, I’ve logged about 6 lunches in the middle of the night. So that’s the first fundamental issue. A slight annoyance is that the data produced is contained within the app - there is no facility to export the data to any other app such as HealthKit, or even to export to CSV/excel or anything. Which makes the experience somewhat poor for someone looking to commit the data to something which as a DB that can be queried.Bit of a shame and an embarrassing oversight for a company that is raving about being one of the best on the market in this field.
