I love this game. I am fortunate to be in a great fleet who give good advice and help freely. I was shepherded through the basics of game play and had lots of fun building my own crew in the early stages, maximising my achievements and participating in events. There is however one caveat; progress I grindingly slow - painful even - unless cash is spent on the game. Having introduced a friend who chose to pursue a non-spending route I know how true that is. We spend equal amounts of time playing but their progress was severely hampered and their ability to compete so limited that they finally succumbed to a small, regular monthly outlay. Making headway is still at a glacial speed but progress is finally happening for my friend. Having far less patience (and deeper pockets) I permit myself a larger regular spend and have now built a competent crew and have a Squadron of my own (this has taken more than a year). The pressure to ‘keep up’ has unfortunately increased with the extra responsibility and the temptation to increase my spending is often irresistible. I still enjoy the game and the game play and don’t begrudge the developers making a little coin - if it allows the game to continue I’m good with that. I gladly recommend this game - especially to lovers of Star Trek - but advise keeping to a strict budget. If that is adhered to (and if you have the support of a friendly fleet) a lot of fun will be had. NB if your fleet is indifferent or pushy LEAVE and find a better one. Live long a prosper!
Amazing game

I only just got this game 2 days ago and I am now literally writing a review on how good the game is. I love the graphics and the storyline but a few tweaks can be made to change this review into a 5 star rather than a 4 star.First of all it would be good to improve the mechanics of upgrading the crew. I’m a bit confused on how it works. To improve that, maybe instead of buying upgrade pass things, you could just train a certain skill that costs time than money.Next, there should be an easier way of getting new crew members. Instead of buying from the portal, maybe there could be a daily pack for free with 1 crew member and credits or something...I hope this helps with improving the game.
No longer entertaining

I have been playing Timelines now for a few years along with many others whom I have come to know and collaborate with in game, sadly over the last few months when the game was taken over by a new outfit, the game has become for many not just unplayable (troubles logging in, game crashing, getting banned for no fault of their own) but also too focused on getting players to spend cash just to get along in the game. New features are brought in without any thought of updating or improving existing game dynamics, new characters are introduced that have no real in game merit - the list of gripes are many and not just from myself but from other players. This has sadly meant that the actual number of players of the game is diminishing and leaving the game which in many ways also reduces the enjoyment of the game. The current view of myself and many other players is that this is simply being run as a cash cow by the developers hooking into the loyal fan base of Star Trek. Unless things change, I cannot recommend anyone spend their time playing this game. It’s loosing its loyal player fan base rapidly, which is a shame, but most and worst of all, it’s loosing its entertainment value by becoming a very dull and repetitive experience.
The best game that captures the Star Trek experience

Highly recommended. I have been playing this game for many years and I’m still having fun with it. It captures the experience of the TV shows and puts it into a game which is genuinely Star Trek, not just a skin on cloned game mechanics. There are new and improved features regularly, the support from the developers is first class, and there’s a thriving community just ready to help and support. Yes there are competitive modes but there is no destroying of bases which so many games have, no buying of shields, instead the fun is in building and developing your crew and ships, and the missions and events you send them on. Personally I’m happy to be patient and there are plenty of free crew and resources that are available every month, you do not need to spend money and I have spent little over the years. I even have a second Timelines account which I have spent absolutely zero on and still have fun with that one too.
