Listening Power Advanced Lite
Auditory & language processing
£0.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Great way to work on auditory and listening processing for ages middle school through adults!
Listening Power Advanced Lite provides listening practice for students from late elementary school age through high school and beyond. No subscriptions needed. Designed by Patti Hamaguchi, M.A., CCC-SLP, a licensed speech-language pathologist and author of books and tests on auditory and language processing, this app focuses on language processing (grammar, vocabulary, narrative and question comprehension) and auditory processing tasks (auditory memory, rapid auditory processing, auditory closure and auditory figure-ground). It's a perfect app to supplement speech, language or auditory therapy!
This app was previously released as "Listening Power Grades 4-8+ Lite HD" . We have renamed it to better reflect the older students and adults who have reported benefitting from this app. It is now a universal Apple app that is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and Macbook.
There are 5 activities in this app and over 150 questions total, in the following categories:
Listening for Grammar (Which sentence sounds right?)
Listening for Meaning (What does that mean?)
Listening for Fast Sentences (What did I say?)
Listening for Missing Sounds (What did I say?)
Listening for Stories: (Various questions about the story-includes optional visual and/or background noise distraction)
An auto advance/drop setting automatically adjusts the level of difficulty of the app. Text can be turned on (for reading decoding and comprehension practice) or left off. Within the Settings, you can select 2, 3 or 4 choices as well as the Easy, Intermediate, or Advanced level.
