Get ready to head back to the East Coast in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
Former trusted wise guy for the Leone family, Toni Cipriani returns home to Liberty City after spending time in hiding for killing a made man. Now, the streets of Liberty City are in turmoil, as warring families vie for control and the town begins to self-destruct under waves of political corruption, organized crime, drug trafficking and union strikes. Deranged hit men, morally depraved tycoons, cynical politicians and even his own mother stand in the way as Toni tries to bring the city under Leone family control.

Liberty City Stories shows off one of gaming’s most memorable worlds while taking you on an action-packed tour of a criminal underworld. Stealing cars, evading cops and racing through streets littered with obstacles is an absolute blast. Gaining notoriety while amassing new cars and weapons is as addictive as ever, and the franchise’s familiar dark humour had us laughing out loud. Rockstar's enormous game offers a wonderful sandbox filled with chaos and silliness, and you won’t want to leave it.
Great game (now it works)
Massive Bereavment
I gave up on this 2 years ago playing on an IPad mini 2. The drive by controls where awkward and once I got to the dreaded mission I got stuck like a lot of people. Now, playing on an iPhone 7, it works great and hasn’t crashed once on ‘Calm Before The Storm.’ It looks good too and runs at 60fps which makes it look and feel smoother to play than the other GTA ports. If you make use of the 3D Touch controls on the newer devices drive by shooting works better on this than any other GTA port as you can aim first and press harder to start firing. Using manual aiming works well enough once you get used to it, aside from ‘The Portland Chainsaw Masquerade’ and the side mission it spawns I managed to complete the game 100% using manual aim. As good as the 3 and vice city ports are this feels more involved with that full control on offer. It doesn’t have the best soundtrack for a GTA, it’s hard to top Vice City and San Andreas on that score but it’s got a good enough story and ties into other characters and stories from the main GTA games. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to any GTA fan who hasn’t played it yet. I hope Rockstar carry on with the ports, they seem to sit in the top 200 App Store games all the time and with the likes of Warriors, Max Payne 2 and Vice City Stories etc would be sweet to play on the bus to work.
Great game, bug can be surpassed
AUGK88
This is my favourite GTA game and to have a portable version (With a good frame rate) is very convenient. The controls are a bit clunky, but what can you expect from an open world phone game? Now- the big issue: The infamous "Calm before the storm" bug. I got past it by completing the lowrider payphone race (Payphone is located in the industrial area) and doing the mission straight afterwards, without saving or anything. Another possibility is changing the language to French, and then doing the mission. But be careful, because if you fail the first time you try it with the French language, the bug will persist after that. You only have one chance not to fail, so don't mess up. Skip the construction site cutscene, and don't skip the Chinatown cutscene, and you should be able to get through it without the game crashing. I hope this helps.
Great developers, great game, awfully made app
Mr fatal fury
Rockstar from Red Dead to Max Payne, games cherished by many, loved by reviewers, but even rockstars memorable games will find it hard to remain giants, on app stores such as iTunes with certain apps like this tearing the fans love for them down and dividing them like a secret showing of Star Wars The Last Jedi. But back to the game itself the controls I feel are slightly harder especially while using the drive by buttons and although for me it’s a bit harder, it’s still very much playable. The main problem at hand I feel is that it wasn’t tested as well as it should have been, with glitches such as the notorious Calm Before The Storm mission where the mission is pretty much unplayable without use of the social club ultimately stoping story progress (which you need an account to access). Speaking of the social club I found it some what annoying popping up all the time. If you plan on playing this game do by all means try if you have a social club account but don’t say I didn’t warn you when I said the mission was unplayable to the point where the game felt like an over charged demo. Overall i am disappointed in you rockstar and feel that the tester team or whoever over looked this glitch deserves a good talk in the office.
General fixes and improvements.
