GrandPerspective is a small utility application that graphically shows the disk usage within a file system. It can help you to manage your disk, as you can easily spot which files and folders take up the most space.
Disk usage is visualised using tree maps. Each file is shown as a rectangle with an area proportional to the file's size. Files in the same folder appear together.

• Filters and filter tests are automatically stored in the user preferences
Use these filters to:
• Mask files in the view
• Filter files from the view

Beautifully intuitive app for de-cluttering your Mac
BoffinBoy
I have used this app to help de-clutter many client’s Mac hard disks. I am so pleased it is now on the app store. It is truly such a wonderfully immediate and visual way to see precisely what is taking up space on your hard disks. Mac users are really lucky to have this app available as there is nothing quite as good for Windows. Really, I have tried a few.I like the introduction of the screen that allows you to rerun previous scans. Now I can regularly manage my Mac’s free space. This app is a gem and should be one of the editor’s picks.
Simple way of decluttering and identifying large file
Mike-LondonUK
I've tried other ways of tidying up the hard drive and this is the easiest way to quickly identify large files. It works very quickly taking just moments before you see a mosaic like the screen shots. If you hover over the square the location comes up on the bottom left, if needed you can also open the file in finder.A great tool and great value at just under £1.
Identified my storage space issue in 2 minutes
PaulMAlton
My Apps folder was showing over 300GB usage but the total of the apps listed was around 50GB.Grand Perspective identified an HP Smart Log file that was 255GB. Deleted that and problem solved.I am amazed that Apple doesn't provide this functionality in MacOS but apparently not.It also identified a few other redundant libraries. I am not super technical but this was easy.
Great app

This was recommended to me off the record by an Apple helpdesk team member years ago and since then, it has saved my sanity multiple times. Xcode has the terrible habit of saving lets of temporary files and not deleting them, this helps me find them and do it myself, time and again.
